Comparison of the efficacy of fibrates on hypertriglyceridemic phenotypes with different genetic and clinical characteristics.
TL;DR: Results indicate that genetic factors known to contribute to the etiology and clinical expression of hypertriglyceridemia subtypes also modulate the response to triglyceride-lowering drugs.

Salivary pH as a marker of plasma adiponectin concentrations in Women
TL;DR: Salivary pH is a significant correlate of plasma adiponectin levels in women according to the menopausal status, and new technologies should be developed to more easily monitor health status, disease onset and progression.

Metabolic syndrome and oral markers of cardiometabolic risk.
TL;DR: There is growing evidence that saliva can reflect virtually the entire spectrum of normal and disease states; thus, there is likely to see increased use of saliva as a diagnostic tool and consequently, dentists may have a greater involvement in the identification and monitoring of non-oral disorders.

Association between a polymorphic poly-T repeat sequence in the promoter of the somatostatin gene and hypertension.
TL;DR: The results suggest that the poly-T repeat sequence polymorphism in the promoter of the SST gene is associated with significant variations of blood pressure and could modulate the risk of hypertension, particularly among women.

Association study between a polymorphic poly-T repeat sequence in the promoter of the somatostatin gene and metabolic syndrome
TL;DR: Results suggest that the poly T polymorphisms in the SST promoter region may influence several metabolic processes implicated in metabolic syndrome expression.
