Antibiotics Degradation and Bacteria Inactivation in Water by Cold Atmospheric Plasma Discharges Above and Below Water Surface
Mohamed El Shaer,Mohamed Eldaly,Ghada Heikal,Yasmine Sharaf,Heba Diab,Mona Mobasher,Antoine Rousseau +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the degradation of two antibiotics oxytetracycline hydrochloride (OTC) and doxycycline hyclate (DXC) in water solution are faster for plasma generated below solution surface than above it with appearance of one degradation product for OTC and two for DXC along plasma treatment time.

Germination of Wheat Seeds Exposed to Cold Atmospheric Plasma in Dry and Wet Plasma-Activated Water and Mist
Mohamed El Shaer,H. El Welily,Ahmed Zaki,H. Arafa,A. ElSebaei,M. ElDaly,Mona Mobasher +6 more
- 01 Jan 2020
TL;DR: In this paper, different cold atmospheric plasma configurations were applied to treat wheat seeds using (1) a direct atmospheric plasma jet (APJ) in the dry form, (2) indirect plasma-activated water (PAW), in the soaked form, and (3) plasmaactivated mist (PAMI) in a wet form.
Treatment of Microorganisms in Vegetables and Fruits by Gliding Arc
Mohamerd El Shaer,Mona Mobasher,A. Abdelghany +2 more
- 01 Jan 2014
TL;DR: The temperature increase of the potatoes during plasma treatment by gliding arc at atmospheric pressure was only few degrees above room temperature, assuring a mild treatment of biomaterials.

Effects of DBD Direct Air Plasma and Gliding Arc Indirect Plasma Activated Mist on Germination, and Physiological Parameters of Rice Seed
TL;DR: In this paper , Rice seeds (Oryza sativ a L.) have been treated with cold atmospheric plasma in air both directly in a dielectric barrier discharge and indirectly by gliding arc discharge with plasma activated mist.
Effect of Plasma Activated Mist on Breast Cancer Cells
Mohamed El Shaer,Ahmed Zaki,Asmaa Reda,Mohamed Adel,Mona Mobasher,Sameh S. Ali +5 more
- 01 Mar 2018
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of PAMI is compared to direct plasma exposure during treatment of breast cancer cells MCF-7 using an ultrasonic nebulizer, where the direct plasma jet is operated with argon gas while the PAMI discharge through ambient air and flowing mist.
