TL;DR: A mathematical second-order linear regression model as a function of tool drilling speed, feed rate, tool diameter, and their effective interactions is introduced to predict temperature and force during the bone drilling process, and for the first time, Sobol statistical sensitivity analysis is used to ascertain the effect of process input parameters on processTemperature and force.

Analytical and experimental study of effective parameters on process temperature during cortical bone drilling.
Hamed Heydari,Navid Cheraghi Kazerooni,Mojtaba Zolfaghari,Majid Ghoreishi,Vahid Tahmasbi +4 more
- 30 Aug 2018
TL;DR: An analytical model to predict process temperature is presented based on Sui and Sugita model which is the combination of a heat equilibrium equation for tool–chip system and a heat distribution equation for the bone itself where heat generation in tool’s tip is due to cutting frictional forces.

Assessing the impact strength of steel fibre-reinforced concrete under quasi-static and high velocity dynamic impacts
TL;DR: In this article, the behaviour of fiber-reinforced concrete under high velocity impact was assessed and compared to that for the quasi-static one, and the results showed that the inclusion of fibre was a vital factor for integrity of the samples.
22
Sensitivity analysis of temperature and force in robotic bone drilling process using Sobol statistical method
TL;DR: The results showed that among all effective input parameters, the tool rotational speed, feed rate and tool diameter have the highest influence respectively on process temperature and force.

High Velocity Penetration of Concrete Targets with Eroding Long- Rod Projectiles; an Experiment and Analysis
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe the design, analysis and experiments done to test eroding long-rod (9 ≤ L/d ≤ 11) penetration into semi-infinite concrete targets.
