Due to the emergence of Web 2.0 and consequently the increased use of social media, this study aims to explore the role of social media in changing the behavior of tourists and the choice of a destination. Despite the massive popularity of social media, the studies with a comprehensive set of driving constructs along with indicators of social media regarding the changing behavior of tourists are lacking in the literature. Therefore, framed by the theory of planned behavior (TPB), the present study fulfills this research gap by developing a set of driving constructs and carrying out an empirical analysis by collecting data from millennials in the selected universities of the Czech Republic. Through the non-random sampling technique, precisely convenience sampling, 261 valid responses were received, and partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis was performed to achieve the objectives of this study. The results indicate that social media channels have a significant impact on behavioral intention and the actual behavior of tourists (significant direct and indirect effect). The constructs tourist information search and tourism promotion were partially supported toward predicting the behavior of tourists. Control–variables related to socio-economic characteristics such as gender and educational level also have a significant impact in determining the actual behavior of tourists. Hence, overall, the study concludes with the significant and considerable impact of social media on the behavior of tourists. The contributions of the study and future directions are discussed at the end of the paper.

The Role of Social Media on Tourists’ Behavior: An Empirical Analysis of Millennials from the Czech Republic

Social media and its applications are a part of daily life in Turkey and the rest of the world. In 2022, about 80.7 % of Turkey's population (69.9 million people) spent an average of 8 h daily using the Internet, providing a significant opportunity to encourage and influence tourists' purchase intentions through social media. This study aims to determine the effects of digital marketing and social media on tourist behaviours in Turkey. This study proposes a comprehensive model for the antecedents of tourists' behavioural intentions in their destination selection that can be found in the tourist destination online content (TDOC). The quality and user-friendly accessibility of the online information provides essential clues that influence tourists' behavioural intentions (intention to visit the destination and eWOM). Tourists' level of satisfaction with their first destination visits and the digital marketing interaction channels through which they share their experiences may positively affect their repeat visits/other tourists' behavioural intentions. Therefore, this study investigates the mediator effect of satisfaction and digital marketing interactions on the behavioural intentions of tourists of Eastern origin during their destination selection. Data was collected from 264 structured questionnaires and analyzed using partial least squares structural equation (PLS-SEM) modelling. Findings show that tourists' TDOC perceptions directly affect their behavioural intentions and that tourist satisfaction has a mediator role in the relationship between tourists' TDOC perceptions and behavioural intentions. Also, the results show that satisfaction and digital marketing interactions are important determinants of the intention to visit a tourist destination and eWOM intentions. Understanding tourists' perspectives on destination choice is crucial for policy makers, businesses and marketers as it will help formulate appropriate strategies to increase destination visits. In this respect, it is recommended to develop strategies to encourage tourists to share their experiences and satisfaction levels through digital marketing channels by improving the quality of products and services. Finally, the population of this study is limited to Turkey, and future research can extend this study to countries with different cultures and make new contributions to the related literature. 

Tourist behaviour: The role of digital marketing and social media

Green HRM involves a variety of organizational policies, practices, and processes that encourage the use of environmentally friendly methods that could be advantageous to the individual, business, and the environment. Based on the systematic review of empirical articles collected from Scopus, the study identified and analyzed 31 empirical studies published since 2010. The current study was undertaken to identify various factors and measuring tools of GHRM. Based on the Ability–Motivation–Opportunity (AMO) theory and the review methodology, the study identified various factors and measuring tools of GHRM. A few identified factors include Green Recruitment and selection, Green Training and Development, Green compensation management, Green performance management, Green Employee empowerment and participation, and Green Employee relations. The present research has thus opened fresh avenues for future studies. In addition, the study presents different perspectives and suggestions for future research that could facilitate the inclusion of sustainability initiatives in the organizational agenda.

In 2015, the United Nations (UN) approved the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development to improve the lives of countries and societies The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) incorporated the agenda into the tourism industry This study has as its primary objective an exploratory analysis of tourism activity in the EU-28 countries over the decade 2009–2018 and its adaptation to the Sustainable Development Goals through the lens of employment This study focuses on the goals of decent employment and economic growth (O8) and gender equality (O5) The results obtained suggest that, in general, the eastern countries of the EU-28 show better values for Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) (8) and SDG (5) with respect to both employment and the wage gap However, these countries have lower GDP-weighted remunerations, which can become an opportunity to obtain higher shares of tourism activity within the EU It is concluded that there is a need to reinforce the awareness of the fabric of the tourism business and for public administrations to favor stable and decent employment and a reduction in the current gender wage gap

Tourism and the SDGs: An Analysis of Economic Growth, Decent Employment, and Gender Equality in the European Union (2009-2018)

In light of global environmental concerns growing, environmental awareness within firms has become more important than before, and many scholars and researchers have argued the importance of environmental management in promoting sustainable organizational performance, especially in the context of supply chains. Thus, the current study aimed at identifying the impact of the components of green intellectual capital (green human capital, green structural capital, green relational capital) on green supply chain performance in the manufacturing sector in Jordan, as well as identifying the moderating role of big data analytics capabilities. To achieve this aim, we developed a conceptual model of Structural Equation Modelling-Partial Least squares and tested through the Smart-PLS software on a sample of 438 respondents. Empirical results showed that each of the components of green intellectual capital and big data analytics explains 71.1% of the variance in green supply chain performance and that all components of green intellectual capital have a statistically significant impact on green supply chain performance. The results also revealed that the relationship between green relational capital and green supply chain performance is moderated through big data analytics capabilities. Finally, this study made a theoretical and managerial implications to the supply chain literature and industry.

Green Intellectual Capital and Green Supply Chain Performance: Does Big Data Analytics Capabilities Matter?

Purpose – green human resource management (GHRM) and green human capital (GHC) are relatively over-
looked aspects in the existing literature of human resource management. Keeping in view, this systematic literature 
review attempts to highlight and explore its related avenues in the fresh domains of GHRM-GHC and provide a future 
research agenda for the development of knowledge. 
Research methodology – this study employs a systematic literature review methodology. The review analyses 25 studies 
especially focused on secondary data of peer-reviewed articles published in academic journals from 2008 to 2020. 
Findings – this study demonstrated that green HRM is imperative for the implementation of environmental sustain-
ability. More importantly, green human capital is considered an important strategic tool for HR managers and policy 
makers for devising human resource policies.
Research limitations – this study only focus on articles reported in high-quality research journals. However, other 
scholarly materials, such as books and conference articles have not been included in the review analyses.
Practical implications – this study provides guidelines to policymakers and managers to pay attention towards environ-
mental sustainability and future research agenda to carry out analytical and empirical research.
Originality/Value – this study enhances the body of knowledge on GHRM field. This study provides a pathway for 
scholars to explore the emerging areas of human resource management such as green intellectual capital and green 
human capital to achieve sustainable development and competitive advantage.

Remittances are often an important source of income and help boost growth, particularly in developing countries (Alfieri & Havinga, 2006).The United Nations News Centre (2013) indicates that 232 million people in the world live outside their country of birth compared with 175 million in 2000 and 154 million in 1990. The World Bank (2015) reports that international migrants numbered about 247 million in 2013; this is projected to increase by another 3 million in 2015. The remittances received by developing countries are three times the size of official development assistance. World Bank estimates show that, globally, remittances totaled US$ 583 billion in 2014, of which US$ 436 billion flowed to developing countries. In 2013, worldwide remittances stood at about US$ 542 billion, of which developing countries accounted for US$ 414 billion. The top four recipient countries included India (US$ 70 billion), China (US$ 60 billion), the Philippines (US$ 25 billion), and Mexico (US$ 22 billion). By 2016, worldwide remittances are projected to reach US$ 700 billion, with developing countries receiving about US$ 540 billion.In 2013, Pakistan ranked seventh among the top ten countries receiving migrant remittances in the developing world (US$ 14.6 billion). So, Pakistani expatriates play a vital role in the country's economic development, boosting its foreign exchange earnings.The important questions with respect to migration are (i) to what extent this potential can be realized and (ii) whom it benefits. Typically, the upfront costs of migrating and securing employment in a foreign country are very high. Having to pay agents' fees, visa fees, airfares and other related costs represent a significant burden, especially for the poor. Even after overseas employment has been secured, many potential difficulties can arise in transferring remittances from the host country to the home country. Certain factors such as lack of access to the formal banking system and the costs associated with it compel many people to use informal channels such as the hundi or hawala system.Despite the significance of remittances for Pakistan, a limited number of studies have looked at the issues relating to migrant households. This study contributes to the literature by attempting to identify the cost of migration and its impact on household welfare.2. Literature ReviewMuch of the literature on remittances focuses on the role of migration in development and poverty reduction. Adams and Cuecuecha (2010), for instance, argue that international remittances have a substantial effect on poverty. Similarly, Gupta, Pattillo, and Wagh (2009) conclude that remittances have a direct poverty-mitigating effect and a positive impact on financial development. Lokshin, Bontch-Osmolovski, and Glinskaya (2010) find that international remittances and increased migration had reduced poverty in Nepal by as much as 20 percent.Acosta, Fajnzylber, and Lopez (2007) show that remittances lower poverty levels, albeit to a moderate degree. Koc and Onan (2004) analyze the use of remittances as a poverty reduction strategy and find that it yields positive results. In a study of 33 African countries, Anyanwu and Erhijakpor (2010) find that international remittances had reduced the level, depth, and severity of poverty.Most studies show that remittances have a positive impact on household welfare. Maphosa (2007) finds that remittances improve living standards, attitudes to education, and access to health facilities, especially in times of financial difficulty. Similarly, Sharma and Zaman (2009) report that international migration carries substantial benefits for migrant households relative to nonmigrant households. Migration, Remittances, and Household Welfare: Evidence from Pakistan

This paper aims to assess the mediating role of tourist satisfaction based on certain antecedents and consequences for the fa mous zoo of the Moravian region in the Czech Republic. Relatively, the overlooked segment of the hospitality sector, particularly, the recreation segment is addressed by taking the case of the aforementioned zoo to analyze the antecedents and consequences of tourist satisfaction fr om visitors’ viewpoints. Hence, the assessment of the mediating role of tourist satisfaction by taking the case of Zoo in the recreation segment is the novel aspect, due to its thorough investigation about the role of significant antecedents and consequences. Based on the primary da ta and application of the PLS-SEM, results indicated direct and indirect effects, the construct ‘emotion’ significantly affects tourist satisfaction as a direct effect. Tourist satisfaction also predicts the recommendation/WoM and corporate image significantly while only ‘emotion’ is signi ficant with respect to indirect effects. The study concludes that ‘emotion’ is an important antecedent for consideration, whilst recommendation/WoM, and corporate image are significant constructs of consequences related to tourist satisfaction. The study implications and limitations are considered whilst future research directions have been suggested in the end part of the paper.
