Effect of physical pretreatment on dilute acid hydrolysis of water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes).
TL;DR: Morphology inspection and thermal analysis had provided evidences of structure disruption that led to higher sugar recovery in hydrolysis process and Hydrolysis time was reduced when using samples pretreated by drying, mechanical comminution and ultrasonication.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of acid or alkali during microwave-assisted pretreatment of dragon fruit foliage (DFF) that would make hydrolysis process more efficient was evaluated. And the changes in the physical structure of DFF prior to and after the microwave assisted pretreatment are also reported.
