A Review of Stabilization of Soils by using Nanomaterials
Zaid Hameed Majeed,Mohd Raihan Taha +1 more
- 01 Jan 2013
TL;DR: In this paper, the application of nanotechnology in geotechnical engineering is discussed and its types, as well as the nanomaterial additives used in soil improvement, and analyzes its effects on soil.
Briefing: Study of the relationship between stiffness parameters for base materials
Sri Atmaja P. Rosyidi,Colin Peter Abbiss,Khairul Anuar Mohd Nayan,Mohd Raihan Taha,Zamri Chik,Amiruddin Ismail +5 more
- 01 Aug 2012
TL;DR: In this paper, the spectral analysis of surface waves (SASW) method is introduced as an in situ non-destructive seismic technique to obtain the California bearing ratio (CBR) and dynamic cone penetrometer (DCP) values.
Strength - Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity Relationship of Thermally Activated Alum Sludge Multiple Blended High Performance Concretes
TL;DR: In this article, the performance of ultrasonic pulse velocity in concrete is examined as a nondestructive experiment, in order to estimate compressive strength of thermally activated alum sludge multiple blended high performance concretes (HPC) that contain AAS, silica fume (SF), ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS) and palm oil fuel ash (POFA) are determined in both binary and ternary blends of cement.
Shear Strength Improvement of Clay Soil Stabilized by Coffee Husk Ash
TL;DR: In this article , the influence of coffee husk ash (CHA) on the physical properties and the mechanical properties of clay was investigated and it was found that CHA can improve the strength of clay by forming a pozzolanic and hydration process that fills soil voids and binds particles together.
Numerical and experimental evaluation of bearing capacity factor N of strip footing on sand slopes
Mohd Raihan Taha,Enas B. Altalhe +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the effects of the depth of the first reinforcement layer, vertical spacing, number of reinforcement layers, and distance between the edges of footings on bearing capacity.
