Midterm outcome of implantable left ventricular assist devices as a bridge to transplantation: Single-center experience in Japan
Mitsutoshi Kimura,Osamu Kinoshita,Kan Nawata,Takashi Nishimura,Masaru Hatano,Teruhiko Imamura,Miyoko Endo,Yukie Kagami,Hitoshi Kubo,Koichi Kashiwa,Koichiro Kinugawa,Shunei Kyo,Issei Komuro,Minoru Ono +13 more
TL;DR: The authors' midterm survival rate after LVAD implantation is satisfactory, however, patients undergoing LVAD support were often readmitted with adverse events, and Kaplan-Meier analysis revealed 6-, 12-, and 24-month survival rates of 93%, 86%, and 86%, respectively.

Controlling Nutritional Status Score As a Predictive Marker for Patients With Implantable Left Ventricular Assist Device.
Akihito Saito,Eisuke Amiya,Masaru Hatano,Yasuyuki Shiraishi,Daisuke Nitta,Shun Minatsuki,Hisataka Maki,Yumiko Hosoya,Masaki Tsuji,Chie Bujo,Kan Nawata,Osamu Kinoshita,Mitsutoshi Kimura,Miyoko Endo,Yukie Kagami,Mariko Nemoto,Yuichi Ikeda,Hiroyuki Morita,Minoru Ono,Issei Komuro +19 more
TL;DR: The preoperative CONUT score may reflect systemic venous congestion and offer a useful prognostic index of clinical courses after LVAD implantation.

Readmissions after continuous flow left ventricular assist device implantation.
Mitsutoshi Kimura,Kan Nawata,Osamu Kinoshita,Haruo Yamauchi,Yasuhiro Hoshino,Masaru Hatano,Eisuke Amiya,Koichi Kashiwa,Miyoko Endo,Yukie Kagami,Mariko Nemoto,Minoru Ono +11 more
TL;DR: Readmission was common in CF-LVAD patients, and the most common etiology of readmission was driveline infection (DLI), followed by stroke (9%).

Myocardial recovery evaluation from ventricular assist device in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy
Takayuki Gyoten,Eisuke Amiya,Osamu Kinoshita,Masaki Tsuji,Mitsutoshi Kimura,Masaru Hatano,Minoru Ono +6 more
TL;DR: This work analysed the experiences of LVAD explantation with the protocol in dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) patients and investigated the validity of the weaning evaluation and surgical strategy from the perspective of optimal long‐term survival.

Coagulation disorder as a prognostic factor for patients with colorectal perforation
Kazushige Kawai,Takeyuki Hiramatsu,Ryo Kobayashi,Naoki Takabayashi,Yukio Ishihara,Ko Ohata,Hirotaka Niwa,Junji Yasuike,Hiroki Tanaka,Mitsutoshi Kimura,Junichi Shindoh +10 more
TL;DR: Prolonged prothrombin time and activated partial thromboplastin time are useful prognostic factors for predicting the surgical outcome for patients with colorectal perforation.
