Deep learning-based detection of parathyroid adenoma by 99mTc-MIBI scintigraphy in patients with primary hyperparathyroidism

With bounding box labels needed for training, object detection is viewed unfavorably in terms of crowd analysis, due to the intensive labor for labeling and the unsatisfactory performance in clutters and severe occlusions. Another feasible method, density-based regression, despite its proficiency in counting and only point-level labels used for training, cannot get the location of each person, and the time and space consumption is relatively high. In this paper, we propose a generic feature extraction framework, Adaptive Pyramid Score (APS), based on object detection and designed specifically for extracting quantitative and spatial-semantic features. Moreover, as an intuitive and feasible solution regarding crowd analysis, we propose the weakly-supervised Confidence-Threshold-Foresight Network (CTFNet) under our APS feature extraction framework, which only needs count-level labels for training and improves the performance of various methods dramatically. Our system realizes the triple enhancement of counting, localization, and detection, which is also proved to be faster than advanced crowd analysis methods, lighter to be transplanted to various object detection methods, and robuster to tackle tasks of extreme scenes. Furthermore, the weakly-supervised paradigm leverage the intensive labor for labeling profoundly.

Faster, Lighter, Robuster: A Weakly-Supervised Crowd Analysis Enhancement Network and A Generic Feature Extraction Framework

Identification of instances of semantic objects of a particular class, which has been heavily incorporated in people's lives through applications like autonomous driving and security monitoring, is one of the most crucial and challenging areas of computer vision. Recent developments in deep learning networks for detection have improved object detector accuracy. To provide a detailed review of the current state of object detection pipelines, we begin by analyzing the methodologies employed by classical detection models and providing the benchmark datasets used in this study. After that, we'll have a look at the one- and two-stage detectors in detail, before concluding with a summary of several object detection approaches. In addition, we provide a list of both old and new apps. It's not just a single branch of object detection that is examined. Finally, we look at how to utilize various object detection algorithms to create a system that is both efficient and effective. and identify a number of emerging patterns in order to better understand the using the most recent algorithms and doing more study.

In this paper, we propose a region adaptive makeup transfer GAN, called RamGAN, for precise region-level makeup transfer. Compared to face-level transfer methods, our RamGAN uses spatial-aware Region Attentive Morphing Module (RAMM) to encode Region Attentive Matrices (RAMs) for local regions like lips, eye shadow and skin. After that, the Region Style Injection Module (RSIM) is applied to RAMs produced by RAMM to obtain two Region Makeup Tensors, $$\gamma $$ and $$\beta $$ , which are subsequently added to the feature map of source image to transfer the makeup. As attention and makeup styles are calculated for each region, RamGAN can achieve better disentangled makeup transfer for different facial regions. When there are significant pose and expression variations between source and reference, RamGAN can also achieve better transfer results, due to the integration of spatial information and region-level correspondence. Experimental results are conducted on public datasets like MT, M-Wild and Makeup datasets, both visual and quantitative results and user study suggest that our approach achieves better transfer results than state-of-the-art methods like BeautyGAN, BeautyGlow, DMT, CPM and PSGAN. 

RamGAN: Region Attentive Morphing GAN for Region-Level Makeup Transfer

Feature pyramid network (FPN) is widely used for multi-scale object detection. While lots of FPN based methods have been proposed to improve detection performance, there exists semantic difference between cross-scale features. Therefore, simple connections bring spatial or channel information loss, while excessive connections bring extra parameters and inference cost. Besides, the fusion of too many features may lead to the information decay and feature aliasing. To deal with the above problems, we propose the Multi-scale Attention-based Feature Pyramid Networks (MAFPN), to fully exploit spatial and channel information and generate a better feature representation for each level from multi-scale features. Taking scale, spatial and channel information into consideration at the same time, MAFPN can process multi-scale input more comprehensively than most conventional methods. The experimental results show that our MAFPN can improve the detection performance of both two-stage and one-stage detectors with an acceptable increase of inference cost.
