Numerical comparison of heat-fin- and metal-foam-based hydrogen storage beds during hydrogen charging process
Saad Ferekh,Geonhui Gwak,Sunghyun Kyoung,Hyun-Goo Kang,Minho Chang,Sei-Hun Yun,Yun-hee Oh,Whangi Kim,Dong Min Kim,Tae-Whan Hong,Hyunchul Ju +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of additional components for internal heat transfer enhancement, such as heat fins and metal foams, on the hydrogen charging performance were numerically studied, and the results showed that superior MHB design should exhibit a higher effective conductivity in the metal powder region and lower overall thermal mass; these two advanced features can be achieved by using a metal foam with optimum porosity.

A numerical investigation of hydrogen desorption phenomena in ZrCo based hydrogen storage beds
TL;DR: In this article, a 3D hydrogen desorption model is applied to the thin double layered annulus ZrCo-based hydrogen storage bed to precisely study the hydrogen disorption reaction and resultant heat and mass transport phenomena inside the bed.

Accuracy assessment of the in-bed calorimetry employed in ITER SDS
Eun-Seok Lee,Seungyon Cho,Mu-Young Ahn,Duck Hoi Kim,Minho Chang,Hongsuk Chung,Myunghwa Shim,Kyu-Min Song,Soon Hwan Sohn,Dukjin Kim,Hiroshi Yoshida +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the accuracy of the ITER SDS in-bed calorimetry is examined numerically at various tritium inventories for two different He loop configurations taking into account the error sources of the mass flow meter, the temperature gauge, the decay heat of Tritium, the deviation of measurement condition from the steady-state condition, and the heat loss by thermal radiation.

Key technologies for tritium storage bed development
Sei-Hun Yun,Minho Chang,Hee-Seok Kang,Dongyou Chung,Yun-hee Oh,Kwangjin Jung,Hongsuk Chung,Daeseo Koo,S. H. Sohn,Kyu-Min Song +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present the current status concerning research/development activities for the optimal approach to the final ITER storage and delivery system (SDS) design and a thermal analysis is performed and discussed on the aspect of heat losses considering whether the reflector and/or the feed-through is present or not.
