Jian Huang,Zhaomin Zhong,Mingyong Wang,Xifeng Chen,Yicheng Tan,Shuqing Zhang,Wei He,Xiong He,Guodong Huang,Haiping Lu,Ping Wu,Yi Che,Yi-Lin Yan,John H. Postlethwait,Wenbiao Chen,Han Wang +15 more
TL;DR: The zebrafish mutant for the circadian gene period1b (per1b) displays hyperactive, impulsive-like, and attention deficit-like behaviors and low levels of dopamine, reminiscent of human ADHD patients, which sheds light on ADHD pathogenesis and opens avenues for exploring novel targets for diagnosis and therapy for this common psychiatric disorder.

The Zebrafish Period2 Protein Positively Regulates the Circadian Clock through Mediation of Retinoic Acid Receptor (RAR)-related Orphan Receptor α (Rorα)
TL;DR: The characterization of a null mutant for zebrafish circadian clock gene period2 (per2) generated by transcription activator-like effector nuclease and a positive role of PER2 in vertebrate circadian regulation are reported to provide strong evidence for apositive role of Per2 in the vertebrates circadian system.

Ezh2 promotes clock function and hematopoiesis independent of histone methyltransferase activity in zebrafish
TL;DR: It is demonstrated for the first time that Ezh2 acts in both circadian regulation and hematopoiesis independent of silencing PRC2, showing that zebrafish ezh2 is regulated directly by the circadian clock via both E-box and RORE motif.
Zinc finger transcription factor Sp7/Osterix acts on bone formation and regulates col10a1a expression in zebrafish
Pengfei Niu,Zhaomin Zhong,Mingyong Wang,Guodong Huang,Shuhao Xu,Yi Hou,Yi-Lin Yan,Yi-Lin Yan,Han Wang +8 more
TL;DR: Zebrafish sp7 mutants provide animal models for investigating novel aspects of bone development and Sp7 is required for zebrafish bone development, and TALEN, a versatile genome-editing tool, is used to generate one zebra fish sp7 mutant line.

Avermectin induces cardiac toxicity in early embryonic stage of zebrafish.
Wenxiao Du,Xuedong Wang,Lin Wang,Mingyong Wang,Chao Liu +4 more
- 01 Dec 2022
TL;DR: Avermectin is a neurotoxin that affects the autonomous behavior of zebrafish and inhibits neurological responses in invertebrates via GABA-chloride channels, and it is mainly effective against animal parasites and insects as discussed by the authors .
