Small proteins: untapped area of potential biological importance.
TL;DR: This review mainly considers the diverse strategies applied to SPs prediction and discusses the challenge for differentiate SP coding genes from artifacts, and presents an overview of SPs with regard to biological significance, structural application, and evolution characterization in an effort to gain insight into the significance ofSPs.
VCGDB: a dynamic genome database of the Chinese population
Yunchao Ling,Yunchao Ling,Zhong Jin,Mingming Su,Mingming Su,Jun Zhong,Jun Zhong,Yongbing Zhao,Yongbing Zhao,Jun Yu,Jiayan Wu,Jingfa Xiao +11 more
TL;DR: The Virtual Chinese Genome Database (VCGDB), a dynamic genome database of the Chinese population based on the whole genome sequencing data of 194 individuals, provides dynamic genomic information, which contains 35 million single nucleotide variations (SNVs), 0.5 million insertions/deletions (indels), and 29 million rare variations, together with genomic annotation information.
DTDP-rhamnosyl transferase RfbF, is a newfound receptor-related regulatory protein for phage phiYe-F10 specific for Yersinia enterocolitica serotype O:3.
Junrong Liang,Xu Li,Tao Zha,Yuhuang Chen,Huijing Hao,Chang Liu,Chang Liu,Ran Duan,Yuchun Xiao,Mingming Su,Xin Wang,Huaiqi Jing +11 more
TL;DR: Phage receptor was regulated by DTDP-rhamnosyl transferase RfbF, encoded within the rfb cluster that was responsible for the biosynthesis of the O antigens, and deletion of the putative O-antigen biosynthesis protein precursor and outer membrane protein had no effect on sensitivity to phiYe-F10 infection.

Complete genome sequence and comparative genome analysis of a new special Yersinia enterocolitica
Guoxiang Shi,Mingming Su,Mingming Su,Junrong Liang,Ran Duan,Wenpeng Gu,Yuchun Xiao,Zhewen Zhang,Haiyan Qiu,Zheng Zhang,Yi Li,Xiaohe Zhang,Yunchao Ling,Yunchao Ling,Lai Song,Lai Song,Meili Chen,Meili Chen,Yongbing Zhao,Yongbing Zhao,Jiayan Wu,Huaiqi Jing,Jingfa Xiao,Xin Wang +23 more
TL;DR: The genome of LC20 was found to be collinear with Y. enterocolitica, and the core-based and pan-based phylogenetic trees showed thatLC20 was classified into the Y. entersocol itica cluster, and it might be a strain with many mutations and combinations emerging in the processes of its evolution.
