Baveno VII algorithm outperformed other models in ruling out high-risk varices in individuals with HBV-related cirrhosis.
Xiaofeng Zhang,Jiankang Song,Yuan-li Zhang,Biao Wen,Lin Dai,Ranran Xi,Qiaoping Wu,Yuan Li,Xiao-ning Luo,Xiaoqin Lan,Qinjun He,Wenfan Luo,Qintao Lai,Yali Ji,Ling Zhou,Tingting Qi,Miaoxia Liu,Fuyuan Zhou,Wei Qun Wen,Hui Li,Zhihua Liu,Yongpeng Chen,Youfu Zhu,Junying Li,Jing-Yu Huang,Xiaolong Cheng,Minghan Tu,Jinlin Hou,Haiyu Wang,Jinjun Chen +29 more
TL;DR: The Baveno VII consensus recommends that spleen stiffness measurement (SSM) ≤40 kPa is safe for ruling out high-risk varices (HRVs) and avoiding endoscopic screening in patients who do not meet the BAVO VI criteria as discussed by the authors .

Spleen-dedicated stiffness measurement performed well to rule out high-risk varices in HBV-related hepatocellular carcinoma: Screening for high-risk varices in HCC.
Xiao Min Cheng,Yujun Tang,Qinjun He,Jiankang Song,Kunyuan Wang,Hui Li,Jing Huang,Weibin Wang,Junying Li,Haiyu Wang,Minghan Tu,Jinzhang Chen,Guosheng Yuan,Shuai Kang,Hongyan Liu,Xiaoyong Zhang,Wenfan Luo,Yali Ji,Xiaoqin Lan,Ling Zhou,Qintao Lai,Xiaoqin Luo,Qiaoping Wu,Damei Zhou,Yingqi Tan,Jinjun Chen,Xiaofeng Zhang +26 more
TL;DR: It is validated that the SSM ≤40 kPa using a 100-Hz probe could safely eliminate more unnecessary EGDs than the Baveno VI criteria in patients with HBV-related HCC, however, the efficacy of the Baveno VII algorithm in patients with HCC requires further investigation.

MELD score < 18 rule out 28‐day ACLF development among inpatients with hepatitis B‐related previous compensated liver disease
Tingting Qi,Congyan Zhu,Jia-peng Wang,Beiling Li,Zuxiong Huang,Zhibin Zhu,Minghan Tu,Guohong Deng,Xin Zeng,Yan Huang,Z. Meng,Xianbo Wang,Zhiping Qian,Hai dong Li,Yanhang Gao,Feng Liu,Jiali Shang,Yu Shi,Shaoyang Wang,Hai Li,Jinjun Chen +20 more
TL;DR: MELD<18 was able to safely rule out patients with ACLF development within 28 days in HBV-related patients without previous decompensation, which had a high 28-day mortality.
Tri‐typing of Hepatitis B‐related acute‐on‐chronic liver failure defined by the World Gastroenterology Organization
Xiaoting Tang,Tingting Qi,Beiling Li,Hai Li,Zu-Xiong Huang,Zhibin Zhu,Minghan Tu,Jie Gao,Congyan Zhu,Xiuhua Jiang,Xutong Yu,Guanting Lu,Ming Xiong,Qinjun He,Fuyuan Zhou,Weiqun Wen,Jinjun Chen,Jinlin Hou +17 more
TL;DR: This work aims to compare the three types of ACLF patients in clinic characteristics, and shows that patients infected with hepatitis B virus are more likely to have acute liver failure than those infected with HBV.
