Comparison of a solvent mixture assisted dilute acid and alkali pretreatment in sugar production from hybrid Pennisetum
Wang Yunbo,Xiaojun Guo,Kaijia Li,Yufei Nan,Jia Wang,Junhua Zhang,Shijuan Dou,Liyun Li,Guozhen Liu,Ming Yang +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of an acetone-butanol-ethanol mixture on dilute H2SO4 and NaOH pretreatment for enzymatic saccharification of hybrid Pennisetum (HP) were investigated.

Negative impact of butyric acid on butanol recovery by pervaporation with a silicalite-1 membrane from ABE fermentation
TL;DR: In this paper, the presence of butyric acid was observed to decrease both the butanol flux and selectivity of the membrane and a clear relation between the severity of the decreased performance and the amount of Butyric Acid was observed.

Effect of salts formed by neutralization for the enzymatic hydrolysis of cellulose and acetone–butanol–ethanol fermentation
Ming Yang,Jia Wang,Yufei Nan,Junhua Zhang,Liyun Li,Guozhen Liu,Jouko Vepsäläinen,Suvi Kuittinen,Ari Pappinen +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of salts formed during the neutralization on the enzymatic hydrolysis of cellulosic materials and acetone-butanol-ethanol (ABE) fermentation was investigated.
Effect of solvent mixture pretreatment on sugar release from short-rotation coppice Salix schwerinii for biobutanol production.
M. VIDOTTO,Ming Yang,Xiaojun Guo,Guozhen Liu,Yufei Nan,Junhua Zhang,Hossain Noyazzesh,Suvi Kuittinen,Jouko Vepsäläinen,Ari Pappinen +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of pretreatment using an ABE mixture with and without H2SO4 (H+) as a catalyst on sugar recovery from Salix schwerinii biomass were investigated.

Bioethanol production from short rotation S. schwerinii E. Wolf is carbon neutral with utilization of waste-based organic fertilizer and process carbon dioxide capture
Suvi Kuittinen,Jenna Hietaharju,Laura Kupiainen,Md. Kamrul Hassan,Ming Yang,Erik Kaipiainen,Aki Villa,Jani Kangas,Markku Keinänen,Jouko Vepsäläinen,Ari Pappinen +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the sustainability of bioethanol production from short rotation coppice Salix schwerinii was considered from cultivation and harvesting to biofuel production and distribution, and the full value chain was evaluated according to the European Union Renewable Energy Directive.
