Performance of genotype imputation for low frequency and rare variants from the 1000 genomes.
TL;DR: It is concluded that the imputation of low frequency and rare variants improves with larger reference panels and higher density of genome-wide genotyping arrays, yet, despite a large reference panel size and dense genotypesing density, very rare variants remain difficult to impute.
Skin resistance to UVB-induced oxidative stress and hyperpigmentation by the topical use of Lactobacillus helveticus NS8-fermented milk supernatant.
Jingjing Rong,Jingjing Rong,Chuang Shan,Shuzhan Liu,Hou-Feng Zheng,Chen Liu,Ming Liu,Feng Jin,Li Wang +8 more
TL;DR: The preventive properties of the supernatant of Lactobacillus helveticus NS8‐fermented milk (NS8‐FS) against UV light‐induced skin oxidative damage and hyperpigmentation are investigated.

Ethnicity-stratified analysis of the association between IL-18 polymorphisms and systemic lupus erythematosus in a European population: a meta-analysis.
Bi-Rong Guo,Jing-Jing Rong,Yi-Hua Wei,Wen-Ying Zhong,Cong-Sheng Li,Ming Liu,Wei Li,Xiao-Bo Wang,Li Wang,Hou-Feng Zheng +9 more
TL;DR: A significant association between SLE and two SNPs within the IL-18 gene promoter region (rs360719 and rs1946518) in a European population, but not in populations of Asian origin is identified.

Probiotic and anti-inflammatory attributes of an isolate Lactobacillus helveticus NS8 from Mongolian fermented koumiss
TL;DR: Good probiotic and particularly immunomodulatory properties of L. helveticus NS8 are exhibited, with a potential for development of functional food commercially or therapeutic adjuvant for inflammatory diseases.
