TL;DR: NSP5, the main protease of SARS-CoV-2, is among the five viral proteins that significantly repressed MAVS-IFN, a major antiviral pathway, and NSP5 was able to inhibit IFN promoter reporter (PRDIII) and this inhibition was mostly restored by a protease inhibitor of N SP5 (GC376) (Supplementary Fig. 4a).
