The dynamic association between different strategies of renewable energy sources and sustainable economic growth under SDGs

The relationship among oil prices volatility, inflation rate, and sustainable economic growth: Evidence from top oil importer and exporter countries

For the first time, this study creates and introduces a new determinant to be used in empirical models of environmental pollution, especially in the USA. This new determinant, created as the domestic-exports/re-exports ratio, arises from the need due to the changing content and structure of exports in the increasingly complex world trade network. Because many countries, preeminently the USA, export imported products to other countries, they re-export. While re-export does not require a production-stage process in a country, domestic export does and can cause production-related environmental pollution. Therefore, this difference may require using re-export and domestic export separately instead of total export in models. Another determinant that we propose to use in the US models is the climate policy uncertainty index. The rationale for proposing this index is based on the decisive role of governments' uncertain climate policies on the environment, and the USA is the only country with this index. Using these two determinants together makes it possible to examine the impact of both government climate policy uncertainties and international trade on environmental pollution since both factors can contribute to pollution. The SVAR model, Impulse-Response Function, and Variance Decomposition were applied between February 2002 and November 2021. Empirical findings indicate that a rising share of re-exports (clean exports) in total exports (83 %), does lead to a decrease in CO2 emissions. In addition, this new determinant created in this study, which we found to be significantly explanatory of CO2, can be used in future environmental models. Finally, we also found that rising uncertainty in climate policy in the USA does not affect PCO2 emissions. Using the domestic-export/re-export ratio as a determinant in pollution models can provide policymakers with a valuable tool to monitor and analyze the environmental impact of trade patterns.

The importance of enterprises significantly improving their innovation performance by working closely with customers throughout the innovation process has been emphasized in recent literature. However, the role of organizational innovation environment in customer creativity and the impact of customer knowledge matching on the innovation environment are not sufficiently explored. Based on the Social cognitive theory and Flow theory, his investigate the factors that influence enterprise innovation performance in the context of customer participation in innovation, as well as how businesses can foster an online innovation environment that fosters customer creativity. The mixed-methods study, which combines qualitative and quantitative research, is used to create the scale item that measures the study’s main variables. Structural equation modeling and bootstrapping estimation was performed on survey data collected via questionnaire from 392 consumers who participated in online service innovation in an online virtual brand community between June 2018 and May 2019. The study obtain the following main results. First, the innovative environment of customer online participation in service innovation fosters customer creativity. Second, two mediation interactions exist: creative self-efficacy and positive emotions, both of which partially mediate the relationship between customer creativity and the innovation environment. Third, while customer knowledge matching influences the intermediary effect of creative self-efficacy on innovation environment and customer creativity, it has no effect on the intermediary effect of positive emotion on innovation environment and customer creativity.

Understanding the effect of organizational innovation environment and customer participation in virtual communities on customer creativity: A study of mediating and moderating influences

The high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt (YREB) plays a crucial role in economic transformation in China. Climate change, rapid population growth, and increased urbanization have contributed towards increased pressures on the water, energy, food (WEF) nexus system of YREB. Thus, there is an imperative need to improve the efficiency of WEF in YREB. However, few studies have conducted spatial-temporal heterogeneity exploration of YREB about the input-output efficiency of WEF (IOE-WEF). Using panel data from 2008–2017, a super slack based model (SSBM), combined with the spatial autocorrelation and spatial econometric method, were proposed to calculate the IOE-WEF of YREB’s 11 provinces, the results indicated that: (1) From the perspective of time, the IOE-WEF in YREB was relatively low and displayed a fluctuating downward pattern while considering the undesirable outputs. (2) From the perspective of space, the spatial distribution of IOE-WEF in YREB was uneven. The efficiency values of the three sub-regions of YREB were “the lower reaches > the middle reaches > the upper reaches”. The IOE-WEF of YREB had a prominent positive spatial correlation and also had a spatial spillover effect. (3) The spatial aggregation effect of IOE-WEF of YREB is gradually weakening. The spatial aggregation types of IOE-WEF in YREB were “high-high” cluster areas in lower reaches and “low-low” cluster areas in upper reaches. (4) From the perspective of driving forces, environmental regulation and technological innovation promoted the improvement of IOE-WEF of YREB, while the industrial structure and mechanization level inhibited the improvement of IOE-WEF of YREB. Furthermore, the role of government support of IOE-WEF of YREB was not obvious. The improvement of IOE-WEF in adjacent regions also had a notable positive spatial spillover effect on the region.
