Host dependence of spectroscopic properties of Dy 3+ - doped and Dy 3+ , Tm 3+ -codped Ge-Ga-S-CdI 2 chalcohalide glasses
TL;DR: By analyzing the absorption and emission measurements of the two serial chalcohalide glasses with the Judd-Ofelt analysis, it was able to calculate its Judd- ofelt strength parameters Omega t, transition probabilities, exited state lifetimes, branching ratios, and emission cross-sections.

Sexual variation of bacterial microbiota of Dendroctonus valens guts and frass in relation to verbenone production.
TL;DR: A comprehensive comparison of bacterial communities in guts and frass between both sexes of D. valens is presented, highlighting the potential significance of female frass microbiota in verbenone production.

First-principles study on the crystal, electronic structure and stability of LaNi5−xAlx (x = 0, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75 and 1)
TL;DR: In this paper, the crystal, electronic structures and stability of LaNi5-xAlx were investigated using a planewave pseudo-potential method, which showed that aluminum atoms tend not to be close to each other and prefer to be set dispersedly in all planes B (the plane where 3g sites lie) rather than in partial ones.

High birefringent rhombic-hole photonic crystal fibers
TL;DR: In this paper, the birefringence induced by rhombic air-hole photonic crystal fibers (PCFs) is numerically analyzed by using the finite-element method.

Third-order nonlinear optical properties of GeS 2 -Sb 2 S 3 -CdS chalcogenide glasses
TL;DR: The Sheik-Bahae rule combining the Moss rule are proved to be an effective guidance for estimating the third-order nonlinearities and further optimizing the compositions in chalcogenide glasses.
