Gene Transfer of An Engineered Zinc Finger Protein Enhances the Anti-angiogenic Defense System
Katsutoshi Yokoi,Huanda Steve Zhang,Shu Kachi,Kamaljit S. Balaggan,Qi Yu,Dmitry Guschin,Mike Kunis,Richard T. Surosky,Liza M Africa,James W B Bainbridge,Sharon Kaye Spratt,Philip D. Gregory,Robin R. Ali,Peter A. Campochiaro +13 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that ZFP TF-driven enhancement of the endogenous anti-angiogenic defense system may provide a new approach for prophylaxis and treatment of neovascular diseases of the eye.

A Designed Zinc-finger Transcriptional Repressor of Phospholamban Improves Function of the Failing Heart
H. Steve Zhang,Dingang Liu,Yan Huang,Stefan Schmidt,Reed Hickey,Dmitry Guschin,Haili Su,Ion S. Jovin,Mike Kunis,Sarah J. Hinkley,Yuxin Liang,Linda Hinh,S. Kaye Spratt,Casey C. Case,Edward J. Rebar,Barbara E. Ehrlich,Philip D. Gregory,Frank J. Giordano +17 more
TL;DR: It is shown that potent repression of PLN expression can be achieved with specificity that approaches single-gene regulation, and delivery of engineered ZFP TFs to native organs can drive therapeutically relevant levels of gene repression in vivo.
