Risk Assessment of Slope Instability Related Geohazards
Mihail E. Popescu,Aurelian C. Trandafir,Antonio Federico +2 more
- 01 Jan 2015
TL;DR: In this paper, a hazard potential estimate for slope instability is presented by relating the local ground conditions to the regional geological surveys and integrating this with site-specific information to produce a hazard estimate.

Seismic Retrofit of Gravity Retaining Walls for Residential Fills Using Ground Anchors
TL;DR: In this paper, a sliding block analysis of the seismic response of an anchored gravity retaining wall supporting a dry homogeneous fill slope subject to horizontal ground shaking is presented. And the effects of magnitude and orientation of anchor load on the yield acceleration of the wall-backfill system and seismically induced wall displacements are examined.

Insights into Effectiveness of Simplified Seismic Displacement Procedures to Evaluate Earthquake Behavior of a Deepwater Slope
Aurelian C. Trandafir,Mihail E. Popescu +1 more
- 01 Jan 2016
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors employ numerical modeling to investigate the ability of simplified procedures based on sliding block methodology to provide a reasonable characterization of the seismic displacements of a deepwater slope.

Engineering Measures for Landslide Disaster Mitigation
Mihail E. Popescu,Katsuo Sasahara +1 more
- 01 Jan 2009
TL;DR: In this paper, a reduction in the driving forces or an increase in the available resisting forces is used to correct an existing landslide or the prevention of a pending landslide, and any remedial measure used must involve one or both of the above parameters.
