Franca Piras,Michela Piga,Antonella De Montis,Ahissou R F Zannou,Luigi Minerba,Maria Teresa Perra,Daniela Murtas,Manuela Atzori,Marco Pittau,Cristina Maxia,Paola Sirigu +10 more
TL;DR: This study provides the first estimates of the prevalence of HPV and type-specific distribution among women from Benin and demonstrates that the epidemiology of HPV infection in Benin is different from that of other world regions.
Nestin and vimentin colocalization affects the subcellular location of glucocorticoid receptor in cutaneous melanoma.
S Lai,Franca Piras,Saturnino Spiga,Maria Teresa Perra,Luigi Minerba,Michela Piga,Ester Mura,Daniela Murtas,Paolo Demurtas,Michela Corrias,Cristina Maxia,Caterina Ferreli,Paola Sirigu +12 more
TL;DR: The aim of this study was to analyse nestin, vimentin and GR expression in tumour tissue (melanoma), and their association with clinicopathological variables, to evaluate any effect on tumour progression.

Nuclear factor-κB expression is predictive of overall survival in patients with cutaneous melanoma
Daniela Murtas,Franca Piras,Luigi Minerba,J Ugalde,Michela Piga,Cristina Maxia,Maria Teresa Perra,Paola Sirigu +7 more
TL;DR: The results demonstrate the correlation of NF-κB p65 nuclear staining with the disease-specific 5-year survival of melanoma patients and suggest that nuclear NF- κB p 65 may be promising as an early independent prognostic factor in patients with primary cutaneous melanoma.
Nestin and vimentin intermediate filaments expression in cutaneous melanoma
S Lai,Franca Piras,Ester Mura,Saturnino Spiga,Maria Teresa Perra,Luigi Minerba,Michela Piga,Daniela Murtas,Paolo Demurtas,Michela Corrias,Cristina Maxia,Paola Sirigu +11 more
TL;DR: The recent study suggests that nestin expression in both tumoral and endothelial cells may be considered as an important early prognostic marker in melanoma; on the other hand vimentin overexpression in cancer well correlates with accelerated tumor growth, invasion, and poor prognosis.

Nicola Cillara,G. Pileri,Gabriella Mancosu,Paola Lorrai,Maria Giuseppina Tocco,Michela Piga,Raffaele Sechi +6 more
TL;DR: A case of colonic lipomatosis that present as localized peritonitis mimicking acute appendicitis in a young COVID patient is reported.
