Since 2008 a non‐binding recommendation of the European Commission has been, in effect, proposing a consistent policy for IP in research and development (R&D). While there is a broad consensus on the overall goal – achieving a higher competitiveness of European industry in the international market place – there are, however, conflicting expectations on the micro‐management: are technology transfer agencies to be considered as profit‐centers, cost‐centers, mediators or all of the above? Customer Relationship Management (CRM) wird manchmal zu eng als ein Gegenstand der modernen Informationstechnik interpretiert. Der vorliegende Beitrag zeigt mehrere Bedingungen auf, die gemeinsam fur den Aufbau erfolgreicher und dauerhafter Geschaftsbeziehungen erfullt sein mussen: ein kundenorientiertes Managementsystem, Wissen uber bindungsrelevante Verhaltensmuster der Kaufer, der Einsatz leistungsfahiger Informations- und Kommunikationstechniken sowie die Durchfuhrung betriebswirtschaftlicher Effizienzanalysen. Aus wissenschaftlicher Sicht verlangt dies einen interdisziplinaren Ansatz der CRM-Forschung. Auf dieser interdisziplinaren Grundlage werden die CRM-Probleme fur verschiedene Phasen eines Beziehungslebenszyklus unter Beachtung beziehungsfordernder Prinzipien (Indivi-dualisierung, Selektion und Priorisierung, Interaktion, Integration) erortert.

Customer Relationship Management Interdisziplinäre Grundlagen der systematischen Kundenorientierung

Die grundlegende Bedeutung der Marke sowohl fur den Konsumenten als auch fur die Unternehmen ist in zahlreichen Publikationen analysiert worden und hat zu einer Vielzahl von Diskussionen uber bestimmte Teilaspekte dieses komplexen Untersuchungsgegenstandes gefuhrt. Die Markenbewertung erfahrt dabei in der wissenschaftlichen Literatur der letzten Zeit nach nur einigen wenigen Beitragen bis Ende der 80er Jahre gesteigerte Aufmerksamkeit.1 Aktuelle Untersuchungen bestatigen die auch zukunftig noch steigende Bedeutung der Markenbewertung in der Unternehmenspraxis. So zeigt eine durch Drees 1999 durchgefuhrte Studie, dass die Ermittlung des Markenwertes fur uber die Halfte der befragten Entscheider in Marketingfunktionen eine grose bis sehr grose Bedeutung fur die Markenfuhrung hat und auch zukunftig von einer steigenden Bedeutung auszugehen ist (Drees 1999, S. 5 f.). Diese Aussagen werden durch die Ergebnisse anderer empirischer Untersuchungen gestutzt (Sattler 1999; Cravens/Guilding 2000). Hier gaben nahezu alle in die Befragung einbezogenen Unternehmen an, in naher Zukunft eine Markenbewertung durchfuhren zu wollen. Nur weniger als 10 Prozent schlossen eine Bewertung der gefuhrten Marken vollstandig aus (Sattler 1999, S. 14).

Markenbewertung — Bestandsaufnahme und kritische Würdigung

The competitive race of banking sector in the world economy is rapidly enforcing the importance of brand valuation. The acceptance of brand valuation has been questionable in several times due to the subjective measurement that derives from customers’ volatile perceptions. At the same time, financially focused model provides only an assessment of the economic value of brand. It is still a challenging task to compute the brand valuation depending only on financial data. Interbrand technique (2004) is one of the best approaches of calculating brand value within the community of marketing. Our valuation approach followed the A.C. Nielsen valuation model (2006) for valuing brand which is multiple of “Annual sales of representative brand”, “Net operating margin”, “Relative brand strength”, and “Perpetual annuity NPV discount factor”. This paper explores the Brand Valuation (BV) and identifies the relative position of banks based on measuring marketing contribution. Data have been collected from first generation private commercial bank’s annual reports and analyzed by using perpetual NPV continuous discount factor. The objective measure of BV for commercial banks was developed using Net Marketing Contribution (NMC), Relative Brand Strength (RBS) and Perpetual Net Present Value Continuous Discount Factor (PNPVCDF). The measures of brand valuation will ease the understanding regarding marketing profitability, brand performance and relative position in the competitive field.

Brand Valuation of Commercial Banks in Bangladesh: An Application of Marketing Profitability

Food processing companies are confronted with numerous sustainability challenges (i.e. clear product declarations, pesticide-free fruit and vegetables, sustainable fishing, and safe working conditions). A possible way to deal with these issues can be found in the concept of sustainability marketing. The quantitative research study presents the results of an online survey on the extent and focus of sustainability marketing in the German food processing industry. By means of a cluster analysis four strategy types are distinguished: Performers, Followers, Indecisives, and Passives. The influence of selected stakeholders and other company-specific factors on the identified strategy types is further examined to explain the different sustainability marketing approaches.
