CT features of alveolitis and sinusitis in horses.
Wolfgang Henninger,E. Mairi Frame,Michael Willmann,H. Simhofer,Dieter Malleczek,Sibylle Kneissl,Elisabeth Mayrhofer +6 more
TL;DR: The maxillary bone, however, especially the facial crest, was involved in nearly every horse, being characterized by endosteal sclerosis, thickening, periosteal reaction, and deformation leading to facial swelling in chronic infections.

A new human mast cell line expressing a functional IgE receptor converts to tumorigenic growth by KIT D816V transfection
Rosine Saleh,Ghaith Wedeh,Harald Herrmann,Siham Bibi,Sabine Cerny-Reiterer,Irina Sadovnik,Katharina Blatt,Emir Hadzijusufovic,Emir Hadzijusufovic,Sylvie Jeanningros,Catherine Blanc,Magali Legarff-Tavernier,Elise Chapiro,Florence Nguyen-Khac,Frédéric Subra,Patrick Bonnemye,Patrice Dubreuil,Vanessa Desplat,Hélène Merle-Béral,Michael Willmann,Thomas Rülicke,Peter Valent,Michel Arock +22 more
TL;DR: The data show that KIT D816V is a disease-propagating oncoprotein, but it does not activate MCs to release proinflammatory mediators, which may explain why mediator-related symptoms in SM occur preferentially in the context of a coexisting allergy.

Delineation of target expression profiles in CD34+/CD38- and CD34+/CD38+ stem and progenitor cells in AML and CML.
Harald Herrmann,Irina Sadovnik,Gregor Eisenwort,Thomas Rülicke,Katharina Blatt,Susanne Herndlhofer,Michael Willmann,Gabriele Stefanzl,Sigrid Baumgartner,Georg Greiner,Axel Schulenburg,Niklas Mueller,Werner Rabitsch,Martin Bilban,Gregor Hoermann,Berthold Streubel,Daniel A. Vallera,Wolfgang R. Sperr,Peter Valent +18 more
TL;DR: Together, surface marker and target expression profiles of AML L SCs and CML LSCs are established, which should facilitate LSC enrichment, diagnostic LSC phenotyping, and development of LSC-eradicating immunotherapies.

Detection of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and VEGF receptors Flt-1 and KDR in canine mastocytoma cells
Laura Rebuzzi,Michael Willmann,Karoline Sonneck,Karoline V. Gleixner,Stefan Florian,Rudin Kondo,Matthias Mayerhofer,Anja Vales,Alexander Gruze,Winfried F. Pickl,Johann G. Thalhammer,Peter Valent +11 more
TL;DR: Despite co-expression of VEGF and its receptors, V EGF is not utilized as an autocrine growth regulator by canine mastocytoma cells.

Communications of normal nasal and paranasal cavities in computed tomography of horses
TL;DR: Heads from 15 male and female horses of various breeds and ages were examined with computed tomography under general anesthesia in dorsal recumbency and CT proved to be a very useful method for documentation of the paranasal openings and for evaluation of the state of the mucous membranes in the nasal and paranaal cavities.
