Genomic Alterations and Allelic Imbalances Are Strong Prognostic Predictors in Osteosarcoma
Jan Smida,Daniel Baumhoer,Michael Rosemann,Axel Walch,Stefan S. Bielack,Christopher Poremba,Klaus Remberger,Eberhard Korsching,Wolfram Scheurlen,Christian Dierkes,Stefan Burdach,Gernot Jundt,Michael J. Atkinson,Michaela Nathrath +13 more
TL;DR: Structural chromosomal alterations detected by single nucleotide polymorphism analysis provide a simple but robust parameter to anticipate response to chemotherapy and might help to better predict the clinical course of osteosarcoma patients at the time of initial diagnosis and to adapt neoadjuvant treatment in patients resistant to the current protocols.

Recessive Transmission of a Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Syndrome in the Rat
Andreas Fritz,Axel Walch,Kamilla Piotrowska,Michael Rosemann,Ekkehard Schäffer,Karin Weber,Andreas Timper,Gerhild Wildner,Jochen Graw,Heinz Höfler,Michael J. Atkinson +10 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that the mutation of an as yet unknown gene is responsible for this syndrome of inherited neuroendocrine cancer in the rat that is transmitted by a recessive gene mutation.
Integrated analysis of single-cell RNA-seq and bulk RNA-seq unravels tumour heterogeneity plus M2-like tumour-associated macrophage infiltration and aggressiveness in TNBC
TL;DR: A neural network-based deep learning framework based on the TAM-related gene signature exhibits high accuracy in predicting the immunotherapy response and serves as a promising marker for predicting prognosis and response to immunotherapy.

MicroRNA profiling with correlation to gene expression revealed the oncogenic miR-17-92 cluster to be up-regulated in osteosarcoma.
Daniel Baumhoer,Stephanie Zillmer,Kristian Unger,Michael Rosemann,Michael J. Atkinson,Martin Irmler,Johannes Beckers,Heide Siggelkow,Irene von Luettichau,Irene von Luettichau,Gernot Jundt,Jan Smida,Michaela Nathrath +12 more
TL;DR: A crucial impact of deregulated miRNAs with consecutive changes in gene expression in osteosarcomas is indicated, which strongly suggests pathogenetic and potentially therapeutic implications.

Profiling the molecular difference between Patched- and p53-dependent rhabdomyosarcoma.
Roland Kappler,Regine Bauer,Julia Calzada-Wack,Michael Rosemann,Bernhard Hemmerlein,Heidi Hahn +5 more
TL;DR: Compared mouse models of rhabdomyosarcoma show less aggressive growth and a greater degree of differentiation than RMS of heterozygous p53 mice, and it is demonstrated that different causative mutations lead to distinct gene expression profiles in RMS, which appear to reflect their different biological characteristics.
