Kate Wolitzky-Taylor,Julia Fallon McBeth,Casey R. Guillot,Matthew D. Stone,Matthew G. Kirkpatrick,Michael J. Zvolensky,Julia D. Buckner,Adam M. Leventhal +7 more
TL;DR: Negative urgency may be an important mechanism underlying the relationship between various types of anxiety and substance use problems in adolescence, and thus represents a possible target for preventive interventions targeting adolescent anxiety and Substance use.

Acute nicotine withdrawal symptoms and anxious responding to bodily sensations: a test of incremental predictive validity among young adult regular smokers.
Michael J. Zvolensky,Matthew T. Feldner,Ellen W. Leen-Feldner,Laura E. Gibson,Kenneth Abrams,Kristin Gregor +5 more
TL;DR: Investigation of the incremental validity of acute nicotine withdrawal symptoms relative to negative affectivity, anxiety sensitivity, and nicotine dependence in predicting anxiety responding to 3-min voluntary hyperventilation found it uniquely predicted post-challenge intensity of panic symptoms and anxiety relative to other established factors.

Taxometric and factor analytic models of anxiety sensitivity among youth: exploring the latent structure of anxiety psychopathology vulnerability.
Amit Bernstein,Amit Bernstein,Michael J. Zvolensky,Michael J. Zvolensky,Sherry H. Stewart,Sherry H. Stewart,Nancy Comeau,Nancy Comeau +7 more
TL;DR: This study represents an effort to better understand the latent structure of anxiety sensitivity (AS), a well-established affect-sensitivity individual difference factor, among youth by employing taxometric and factor analytic approaches in an integrative manner.
