1H-NMR as a structural and analytical tool of intra- and intermolecular hydrogen bonds of phenol-containing natural products and model compounds.
Pantelis Charisiadis,Vassiliki G. Kontogianni,Constantinos G. Tsiafoulis,Andreas G. Tzakos,Michael G. Siskos,Ioannis P. Gerothanassis +5 more
TL;DR: The use of the high resolution phenol hydroxyl group 1H-NMR spectral region provides a general method for the analysis of complex plant extracts without the need for the isolation of the individual components.

Hydrogen Atomic Positions of O–H···O Hydrogen Bonds in Solution and in the Solid State: The Synergy of Quantum Chemical Calculations with 1H-NMR Chemical Shifts and X-ray Diffraction Methods
TL;DR: Recent developments in the refinement of labile hydrogen positions with the use of density functional theory (DFT) calculations after a structure has been determined by X-ray from single crystals or from powders are summarized.

Crystal Structure, Thermal Behavior, and Photochemical Reactivity of a Series of Co-Crystals of trans-1,2-Bis(4-pyridyl) Ethylene with Dicarboxylic Acids
Kostas Tsaggeos,Natalia Masiera,Aleksandra Niwicka,Vassiliki Dokorou,Michael G. Siskos,Stavroula Skoulika,Adonis Michaelides +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a series of co-crystals of trans-1,2-bis(4-pyridyl) ethylene (bpe) with aliphatic saturated or unsaturated dicarboxylic acids, of the type [(bpe)(L)] (L = dicaraboxyric acid), were prepared and characterized by single crystal X-ray crystallography.

Photoreactive 3D microporous lanthanide MOFs: formation of a strained ladderane in a partial single crystal-to-single crystal manner.
TL;DR: The assembly of Er( 3+) and Y(3+) cations with trans,trans-muconic acid affords a photoreactive 3D microporous MOF that, upon UV irradiation, undergoes a cycloaddition reaction (SCSC up to 55%), with in situ formation of a strained ladderane.

Crystal Structure and Solid-State Reactivity of a Cd(II) Polymeric Complex with Acetylenedicarboxylic Acid
Stavroula Skoulika,Panagiotis Dallas,Michael G. Siskos,and Yiannis Deligiannakis,Adonis Michaelides +4 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a novel one-dimensional coordination polymer [Cd(ADC)(H2O)3] H2O, where ADC2- = acetylenedicarboxylate dianion, was synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.
