Allocation of plug-in vehicles' Parking Lots in distribution systems considering network-constrained objectives
Nilufar Neyestani,Maziar Yazdani-Damavandi,Miadreza Shafie-khah,Javier Contreras,Joao P. S. Catalao +4 more
- 03 May 2016
TL;DR: In this article, a two-stage model has been designed to allocate PEVs in distribution systems with the objective of minimizing system costs, including power loss, network reliability and voltage deviation as possible objectives.
Strategic bidding of virtual power plant in energy markets: A bi-level multi-objective approach
TL;DR: A model for finding the strategic bidding equilibrium of a virtual power plant in a joint energy and regulation market in the presence of rivals is presented and the results indicate that, at the equilibrium point, the profit of avirtual power plant and GenCo will be less than in the initial state.
Optimal Singular Value Decomposition Based Big Data Compression Approach in Smart Grids
Seyed Naser Hashemipour,Jamshid Aghaei,Abdollah Kavousi-Fard,Niknam Taher,Ladan Salimi,Pedro Crespo del Granado,Miadreza Shafie-khah,Fei Wang,Joao P. S. Catalao +8 more
TL;DR: Comparisons show that the compression level obtained by the proposed method can dominate the points given by the existing SVD rank reduction methods, and the optimized rank reduction can pave the way toward a robust and reliable performance.
Adaptive robust co-optimization of wind energy generation, electric vehicle batteries and flexible AC transmission system devices
Ahmad Nikoobakht,Jamshid Aghaei,Jamshid Aghaei,Mohammad Jafar Mokarram,Miadreza Shafie-khah,Joao P. S. Catalao +5 more
TL;DR: Simulation results suggest that: 1) substantial economic savings can be achieved through utilization of WEG and storage capability of EV batteries, beyond the independent capabilities of TIA technology; 2) the TIA device plays a critical role in removing transmission congestion; and 3) the storage capabilityof EV batteries could relieve the uncertainty of W EG and increase its dispatchability.
Robust scheduling of variable wind generation by coordination of bulk energy storages and demand response
Ehsan Heydarian-Forushani,Mohamad Esmail Hamedani Golshan,Mohsen Parsa Moghaddam,Miadreza Shafie-khah,Joao P. S. Catalao,Joao P. S. Catalao,Joao P. S. Catalao +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a robust optimization scheduling framework is proposed to derive an optimal unit commitment decision in systems with high penetration of wind power incorporating demand response programs as well as bulk energy storages in co-optimized energy and reserve markets.
