Enhanced Detection of Treatment Effects on Metastatic Colorectal Cancer with Volumetric CT Measurements for Tumor Burden Growth Rate Evaluation.
Michael L. Maitland,Julia Wilkerson,Sanja Karovic,Binsheng Zhao,Jessica Flynn,Mengxi Zhou,Patrick Hilden,Firas S. Ahmed,Laurent Dercle,Chaya S. Moskowitz,Ying Tang,Dana E. Connors,Stacey J Adam,Gary J. Kelloff,Mithat Gonen,Tito Fojo,Lawrence H. Schwartz,Geoffrey R. Oxnard +17 more
TL;DR: Combined tumor volume measurement and estimation of tumor regression and growth rate has potential to enhance assessment of treatment effects in clinical studies of colorectal cancer that would not be achieved with conventional, RECIST-based unidimensional measurements.

A novel approach to assess real-world efficacy of cancer therapy in metastatic prostate cancer. Analysis of national data on Veterans treated with abiraterone and enzalutamide.
Harshraj Leuva,Harshraj Leuva,Keith Sigel,Mengxi Zhou,Julia Wilkerson,David H. Aggen,Yeun-Hee Anna Park,Christopher B. Anderson,Ta-Chueh Melody Hsu,Erik Langhoff,Glen McWilliams,Charles G. Drake,Richard Simon,Susan E. Bates,Tito Fojo,Tito Fojo +15 more
TL;DR: While this work shows excellent real-world outcomes with abiraterone and enzalutamide, 2 effective and tolerable therapies, the results in VAMCs suggest enzalUTamide should follow abirATERone, a better salvage therapy.

Gemcitabine plus nab‐paclitaxel versus FOLFIRINOX for unresected pancreatic cancer: Comparative effectiveness and evaluation of tumor growth in Veterans
Keith Sigel,Mengxi Zhou,Yeun-Hee Anna Park,Tinaye Mutetwa,Girish N. Nadkarni,Celine Yeh,Paz Polak,Carlie S. Sigel,Thierry Conroy,Beata Juzyna,Mark Ychou,Tito Fojo,Juan P. Wisnivesky,Susan E. Bates +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors compared Gem/NabP and FOLFIRINOX for advanced pancreatic adenocarcinoma based on national VA data and found no difference in PS-adjusted (hazard ratio [HR] 1.00; 95% confidence interval [95% CI] 0.76-1.13] OS between the two treatment groups.
