Hepatitis B e antigen and its precursors promote the progress of hepatocellular carcinoma by interacting with NUMB and decreasing p53 activity
Dan Liu,Lei Cui,Yuan Wang,Guifang Yang,Jing He,Ruidong Hao,Chengpeng Fan,Mengmeng Qu,Zhepeng Liu,Min Wang,Lang Chen,Hui Li,Deyin Guo +12 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the intracellular hepatitis B e antigen and its precore precursors, but not their homologous core protein, could associate with NUMB and thereby impair the stability and transcriptional activity of tumor suppressor p53.

Hepatitis B virus-triggered PTEN/β-catenin/c-Myc signaling enhances PD-L1 expression to promote immune evasion.
Yishuang Sun,Mengxue Yu,Mengmeng Qu,Yuhong Ma,Dandan Zheng,Yanan Yue,Shuting Guo,Li Tang,Guorui Li,Weishuai Zheng,Min Wang,Deyin Guo,Changyong Li +12 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that HBV-triggered PTEN/β-catenin/c-Myc signaling via HBx and HBp enhances PD-L1 expression, leading to inhibition of T cell response, and promotes HBV immune evasion.

Bone Marrow-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells Attenuate Immune-Mediated Liver Injury and Compromise Virus Control During Acute Hepatitis B Virus Infection in Mice.
Mengmeng Qu,Xu Yuan,Dan Liu,Yuhong Ma,Jun Zhu,Jun Cui,Mengxue Yu,Changyong Li,Deyin Guo,Deyin Guo +9 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that adoptive transfer of BM-MSCs influences innate immunity and limits immune-mediated liver injury during acute HBV infection by suppressing NK cell activity.

Bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells suppress NK cell recruitment and activation in PolyI:C-induced liver injury.
TL;DR: These results provide an additional mechanism for the immunosuppressive effect of BM-MSCs on NK cells, which further supports the therapeutic potential of MSCs in immune-mediated disorders, including those in which NK cells play a major role.
