HSA-based multi-target combination therapy: regulating drugs' release from HSA and overcoming single drug resistance in a breast cancer model.
Yi Gou,Zhenlei Zhang,Dongyang Li,Zhao Lei,Meiling Cai,Zhewen Sun,Yongping Li,Yao Zhang,Hamid Khan,Hongbing Sun,Tao Wang,Hong Liang,Feng Yang +12 more
TL;DR: In vivo results revealed that the HSA–NAMI-A–Cu(BpT)Br–DOX complex not only increases the targeting ability compared with a combination of the three agents, but it also overcomes DOX resistance to drug-resistant breast cancer cell lines.

Novel Brain-Tumor-Inhibiting Copper(II) Compound Based on a Human Serum Albumin (HSA)-Cell Penetrating Peptide Conjugate.
Zhenlei Zhang,Ping Yu,Yi Gou,Juzheng Zhang,Shanhe Li,Meiling Cai,Hongbin Sun,Feng Yang,Hong Liang +8 more
TL;DR: In vivo data suggested that both 6b and the HSA-6b-peptide conjugate penetrate the blood-brain barrier and inhibit brain tumor growth with few side effects and also improved the delivery efficacy and targeting ability of 6b in vivo.

Anticancer Function and ROS-Mediated Multi-Targeting Anticancer Mechanisms of Copper (II) 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde Complexes.
TL;DR: The synthesized Cu2+ complexes established ROS-mediated targeting of multiple cell signaling pathways as a fabulous route for the inhibition of cancer cell growth.

Novel Pt(II) complexes with modified aroyl-hydrazone Schiff-base ligands: synthesis, cytotoxicity and action mechanism
Jungang Deng,Ping Yu,Zhenlei Zhang,Juzheng Zhang,Sun Zhewen,Meiling Cai,Haoliang Yuan,Hong Liang,Feng Yang +8 more
TL;DR: Five modified benzene rings of 2-hydroxybenzylidene with a hydrocarbyl or halogen group possessed remarkable cytotoxicity against tumour cells in vitro and chemotherapeutic mechanisms of the complexes against A549cisR cells were investigated.

Developing a binuclear multi-target Bi(III) complex by optimizing 2-acetyl-3-ethylpyrazine thiosemicarbazides.
Muhammad Hamid Khan,Meiling Cai,Shanhe Li,Zhenlei Zhang,Juzheng Zhang,Xiaoan Wen,Hongbin Sun,Hong Liang,Feng Yang +8 more
TL;DR: Four novel binuclear Bi(III) complexes designed and synthesized by modifying the N-4 position of a series of 2-Acetyl-3-ethylpyrazine thiosemicarbazides suggested that C4 can be developed as a potential multi-target anticancer candidate.
