Tpo knockout in zebrafish partially recapitulates clinical manifestations of congenital hypothyroidism and reveals the involvement of TH in proper development of glucose homeostasis.
TL;DR: In this article , a tpo-/- mutant zebrafish line was generated through knockout of TPO with CRISPR/Cas9 and investigated the associated phenotypes, including growth retardation; an increased number of thyroid follicular cells; and abnormal extrathyroidal phenotypes including pigmentation defects, erythema in the thoracic region, delayed scale development and failure of swim bladder secondary lobe formation.

Pathogenic variations in MAML2 and MAMLD1 contribute to congenital hypothyroidism due to dyshormonogenesis by regulating the Notch signalling pathway
Feng-Yao Wu,Ruimeng Yang,Hai Yang Zhang,Ming Zhan,Ping Tu,Cao-Xu Zhang,Mei Dong,Ren-Jie Cui,Xiao Yu Liu,Liu Yang,Chen-Yan Yan,Feng Sun,Zheng Wang,Jun Liang,Huai-Dong Song,Feng Cheng +15 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors identified three mastermind-like family gene variants in CH and revealed that both canonical and non-canonical Notch signalling affected thyroid hormone biosynthesis, and these three variants blocked the expression of genes associated with thyroid thyroid biosynthesis.

Large-scale forward genetic screening of zebrafish affecting thyroid development.
Jia-Ping Wan,Zheng Wang,Cao-Xu Zhang,Liu Yang,Chen-Yan Yan,Feng-Yao Wu,Huai-Dong Song,Mei Dong +7 more
TL;DR: In this article , a forward mutagenesis screen for identifying genes involved in the development and function of the thyroid follicular cells was carried out in the zebrafish model to identify genes and signaling pathways that regulate the thyroid development.

YTHDF3as a prognostic predictive biomarker of thyroid cancer and its correlation with immune infiltration
Yihan Zhang,Ruihua Chen,Hong Zhou,Yi Lin,Bingxin Li,Huaidong Song,Guoqiang Zhou,Mei Dong,Huanbai Xu +8 more
TL;DR: It is confirmed that YTHDF3 can be used as a potential prognostic biomarker of TC and provides a new perspective for understanding the modification of m^6A RNA in TC.

Influence of two anti-tumor drugs, pazopanib, and axitinib, on the development and thyroid-axis of zebrafish (Danio rerio) embryos/larvae
Liu Yang,Ping Tu,Cao-Xu Zhang,Rongping Xie,Mei Dong,Yu Jing,Xia Chen,Gang Wei,Huai-Dong Song +8 more
TL;DR: Findings indicate that pazopanib and axitinib may have toxic effects on thyroid development and function, at least partially, by influencing the regulation of the HPT axis.
