Md. Saiful Islam,Md. Saiful Islam,Md. Kawser Ahmed,Mohammad Raknuzzaman,Mohammad Raknuzzaman,Md. Habibullah-Al-Mamun,Md. Habibullah-Al-Mamun,Goutam Kumar Kundu +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, heavy metals in industrial sludges were investigated to assess ecological risk using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICP-MS) and the results of the Community Bureau of Reference (BCR) sequential extraction showed that the studied metals were predominantly associated with the residual fraction followed by the oxidizable fraction.

Apportionment of heavy metals in soil and vegetables and associated health risks assessment
TL;DR: Multivariate principal component analysis showed significant anthropogenic contributions of Cr, Cu, As and Cd in soil and Cr, Ni, Cu and Pb in vegetables, showing that the inhabitants who consume contaminated vegetables are exposed chronically to metal pollution with carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic risks.

Heavy metals in cereals and pulses: health implications in Bangladesh.
Md. Saiful Islam,Md. Saiful Islam,Md. Kawser Ahmed,Md. Habibullah-Al-Mamun,Md. Habibullah-Al-Mamun +4 more
TL;DR: The carcinogenic risk of As and Pb with nutritional deficiency of essential elements for Bangladeshi people is a matter of concern and a potential noncarcinogenic risk to the consumers is elucidates.

Occurrence, distribution and possible sources of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in the surface water from the Bay of Bengal coast of Bangladesh.
Md. Habibullah-Al-Mamun,Md. Habibullah-Al-Mamun,Md. Kawser Ahmed,Md. Saiful Islam,Masahiro Tokumura,Masahiro Tokumura,Shigeki Masunaga +6 more
TL;DR: The findings of this first comprehensive report on the PCB contamination in the surface water in Bangladesh may provide a reference to future studies of these compounds in the Bay of Bengal.
