An imaging display apparatus, includes: display means for image display; first image signal generation means for generating a display image signal based on a captured image signal captured by an imaging section with a field of view direction of a user being a direction of an object; second image signal generation means for generating a display image signal of an image different from an image of the display image signal generated by the first image signal generation means; and control means for allowing, simultaneously on the display means, display of the image of the display image signal generated by the first image signal generation means and display of the image of the display image signal generated by the second image signal generation means.

Imaging display apparatus and method

In this paper, TiO2 film coated on fiberglass cloth was synthesized by sol–gel method and further sensitized by CdS nanoparticles using a sequential chemical bath deposition technique. Gaseous benzene was adopted as a model pollutant to evaluate the photocatalytic performances of the supported TiO2 films sensitized with variable content of CdS nanoparticles, which obtained by adjusting the concentration of Cd2+ or S2− precursor solution. Along with the increase of the CdS amount, the photocatalytic activity of these samples initially increases and then shows a downward trend. When the concentration of Cd2+ or S2− precursor solution achieved 0.005 M, the sample performs the best photocatalytic property and the degradation efficiency reaches 92.8% and 32.7% under UV–vis and visible light irradiation, respectively. The enhancement of the photocatalytic activity could be attributed to the formation of micro-heterojunction. However, a thick CdS sheath covered catalyst surface will form when high concentration of Cd2+ or S2− solution is used. The low photogenerated electron–hole pairs separation efficiency and the photocorrosion process of CdS decrease the photocatalytic activity gradually.

Deodorization of food-related nuisances from a refrigerator: The feasibility test of photocatalytic system

A pulsed spark-discharge aerosol generator using air as a carrier gas was successfully applied to the titania nanoparticle production. The titanium vapor evaporated by spark discharge was subsequently supersaturated and condensed to titania nanoparticles by nucleation and condensation. The size and concentration of the particles can be controlled easily using air as a carrier gas by altering the repetition frequency, capacitance, gap distance, and flow rate of the spark-discharge system. TEM observation shows that the generated particles were aggregates, which primary particle sizes are a few nanometers. The element composition of the nanoparticles was titanium and the crystal phase was amorphous. XPS analysis shows that oxidation state of generated particles corresponded to TiO2. These XPS data indicates that some fraction of the evaporated titanium vapor could be oxidized in an air atmosphere by the oxidation with oxygen. However, enough time for crystallization was lacked because of raid cooling.

Synthesis of Titania Nanoparticles via Spark Discharge Method Using Air as a Carrier

Disclosed is a long-life photocatalyst deodorization device (1) which effectively excites photocatalysts over the entire surface of a photocatalyst sheet and is capable of maintaining deodorization performance over a long period. Substrates (5 and 7) upon which vent holes (4) have been provided are disposed in parallel, and upon at least one substrate (5) of the two substrates, LEDs (3) are mounted. Between the two substrates, photocatalyst sheets (6) constituted by woven glass fiber material (6A) carrying photocatalyst particles (6B) and a frame (6C) supporting the material are disposed. The photocatalyst sheets and the two substrates are fixed to a housing (8), whereupon emitting surfaces of the LED light sources for exciting the photocatalysts and the photocatalyst sheets are disposed in parallel. Air fed from the vent holes is caused to pass through the photocatalyst sheets. The photocatalyst sheets are constituted by bundling glass fibers and weaving the fibers in a crisscross manner so as to have a predetermined aperture ratio such that ventilation is possible under low wind speed. The photocatalyst particles are mechanically held in contact between the glass fibers of the photocatalyst sheets.

Photocatalyst deodorization device

A glass fiber filter coated with TiO2 was adopted as a photocatalyst to remove methyl mercaptan and ammonia gases under black light irradiation. A single filter alone had a high capacity to remove about 30% of both gases within 3–4 h. Sulfate ion (SO42-) from the methyl mercaptan, nitrogen oxide (NOx) and nitrate ion (NO3-) from ammonia were generated due to the photocatalyst reaction. However, the majority of ammonia gas trapped on the filter was stuck to the surface without any reactions. Rinsing with distilled water was a very effective procedure for cleaning the filter.

SOLUTION: The photocatalyst deodorization device 1-1 has a ventilating passage 2 for contaminated air, a support 3 for a photocatalyst and an excitation light source 4 emitting excitation light for the photocatalyst and deodorizes the contaminated air passing through the passage 2 by photo-exciting the photocatalyst. The support 3 for the photocatalyst is composed of a film or layer of a fiber invulnerable to contaminants and supports the photocatalyst. The excitation light source 4 is separated from the passage 2 with a partition 5 allowing the excitation light to be transmitted but blocking contaminants. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
