Risk factors for knee osteoarthritis after traumatic knee injury: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomised controlled trials and cohort studies for the OPTIKNEE Consensus
Jackie L. Whittaker,Justin M Losciale,Carsten Juel,Jonas Bloch Thorlund,Matilde Lundberg,Linda K Truong,Maxi Miciak,Belle L. van Meer,Adam G Culvenor,Kay M. Crossley,Ewa M. Roos,Stefan Lohmander,Marienke van Middelkoop +12 more
TL;DR: Moderate-certainty evidence suggests that various single and multistructure knee injuries (beyond ACL tears) increase the odds of symptomatic OA.
OPTIKNEE 2022: consensus recommendations to optimise knee health after traumatic knee injury to prevent osteoarthritis
Jackie L. Whittaker,Adam G Culvenor,Carsten Juel,Bjørnar Berg,Alessio Bricca,Stephanie R Filbay,Pætur Mikal Holm,Erin M Macri,A. Urhausen,Clare L Ardern,Andrea M Bruder,Garrett S. Bullock,Allison M Ezzat,Michael Girdwood,M. Haberfield,Mick Hughes,Lina Holm Ingelsrud,K. M. Chan,Christina Y Le,Justin M Losciale,Matilde Lundberg,Maxi Miciak,Britt Elin Øiestad,Brooke E Patterson,Anu M Räisänen,Søren Thorgaard Skou,Jonas Bloch Thorlund,Clodagh Toomey,Linda K Truong,Belle L. van Meer,T. J. West,James J. Young,L.S. Lohmander,Carolyn A. Emery,May Arna Risberg,Marienke van Middelkoop,Ewa M. Roos,Kay M. Crossley +37 more
TL;DR: The OPTIKNEE consensus as discussed by the authors was developed to improve knee and overall health, to prevent osteoarthritis (OA) after a traumatic knee injury, by synthesizing the current evidence and inform recommendations on the burden of knee injuries; risk factors for post-traumatic knee OA; rehabilitation to prevent post traumatic knee OAs; and patient-reported outcomes, muscle function and functional performance tests to monitor people at risk of OA.
Declining trends in arthroscopic meniscus surgery and other arthroscopic knee procedures in Denmark: a nationwide register-based study
TL;DR: An updated investigation of Danish meniscal procedure trends in the private and public healthcare sectors in Denmark from 2006 to 2018 shows a large decrease in the incidence for arthroscopic meniscal procedures, possibly in response to mounting evidence of limited benefit of this procedure for degenerative knee disease.
69 Systematic review and meta-analysis of randomised controlled trials and cohort studies of risk factors for knee osteoarthritis after trauma (OPTIKNEE)
Jackie L. Whittaker,Justin M Losciale,Carsten Juel,Jonas Bloch Thorlund,Matilde Lundberg,Linda K Truong,Maxi Miciak,Belle L. van Meer,Adam G Culvenor,K. R. Crossley,Ewa M. Roos,L. Stefan Lohmander,Marienke van Middelkoop +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors identified risk factors for osteoarthritis following knee trauma and performed a meta-analysis to estimate the odds of post-traumatic knee ostearthritis.

33 Declining trends in arthroscopic meniscus surgery and other arthroscopic knee procedures in Denmark: a nationwide register-based study
TL;DR: In this article , the authors performed an updated investigation of Danish meniscal procedure trends in the private and public healthcare sectors in Denmark from 2006 to 2018, including trends for other arthroscopic knee procedures.
