Effects of soil deformation and surface mulching on soil physical properties and soybean response related to weather conditions
TL;DR: A field experiment was conducted on Haplic Luvisol developed from loess to assess the effects of soil deformation and straw mulch on soil water status (matric potential), temperature, penetration resistance, soybean growth, seed yield and yield components including straw, protein and oil in 2006-2008 as discussed by the authors.

Comparison of Surface Soil Moisture from SMOS Satellite and Ground Measurements
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared satellite and ground soil moisture data for the Podlasie and Polesie regions in Eastern Poland, and found that the agreement between ground and soil moisture ocean salinity derived soil moisture derived from radiometric measurements is better for the Polesie region.
Evaluation of Soil Moisture Variability in Poland from SMOS Satellite Observations
TL;DR: The spatial-temporal variability of soil moisture using Soil Moisture Ocean Salinity satellite measurements for Poland from a five-year period (2010–2014) is examined to help undertake appropriate steps to minimize susceptibility to drought and flooding in different regions of Poland.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present results of soil moisture modelling from brightness temperatures measured with the ground-based ELBARA passive radiometer operating at GHz for soil moisture retrieval using L-band Microwave Emission of the Biosphere model with Simplified Roughness Parametrization.
