Mechanically Responsive Crystalline Coordination Polymers with Controllable Elasticity
Marijana Đaković,Mladen Borovina,Mateja Pisačić,Christer B. Aakeröy,Željka Soldin,Boris-Marko Kukovec,Ivan Kodrin +6 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that it is possible to control the extent of elastic bending in crystalline coordination compounds by carefully altering the strength and the geometry of these non-covalent interactions.

Elucidating the Origins of a Range of Diverse Flexible Responses in Crystalline Coordination Polymers
TL;DR: The mechanical adaptability of a family of six one-dimensional crystalline coordination polymers of cadmium (CdX2(3-X′py)2]n is studied in this article.

Exploring the diversity of elastic responses of crystalline cadmium(II) coordination polymers: from elastic towards plastic and brittle responses
TL;DR: In this paper, the ability of one-dimensional coordination polymers of cadmium(II) to adapt to mechanical stimuli was examined and differences in elastic responses were observed, showing that the stronger interactions are reflected in the larger Young's modulus values, which made the crystals stiffer and consequently less adaptable to external mechanical stimuli.

Tailoring Enhanced Elasticity of Crystalline Coordination Polymers
O. Mišura,Mateja Pisačić,Mladen Borovina,Marijana Đaković +3 more
TL;DR: In this paper , a hydrogen-bonding link was identified as a critical feature in the parent material, the CdI2(I-pz)2]n (Ipz = iodopyrazine), to determine the mechanical output and was modified via cocrystallization.
