Characteristics of heavy metals capturing agent dithiocarbamate (DTC) for treatment of ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid–Cu (EDTA–Cu) contaminated wastewater

Synthesis of hexadecylamine capped nanoparticles using group 12 complexes of N-alkyl-N-phenyl dithiocarbamate as single-source precursors

A new zinc(II) complex of pyrrolidinedithiocarbamate (PDTC), bis[(μ 2-pyrrolidinedithiocarbamato-S,S′)(pyrrolidinedithiocarbamato-S,S′)zinc(II)], [Zn2(PDTC)4] (1) has been prepared by reaction of ZnCl2 with ammonium pyrrolidinedithiocarbamate in 1 : 1 and 1 : 2 ratio, respectively. The complex has been characterized by IR, NMR and X-ray crystallography. Compound 1 crystallizes in the triclinic space group P 1 in the form of a centrosymmetric dimer. The solid-state structure contains two crystallographically equivalent Zn+2 centers in a tetrahedrally distorted ion sphere. A mixed-ligand complex, [Zn(PDTC)(MSC)]− (MSC = mercaptosuccinate) was also prepared but the structure of the resulting complex was found to be the same as 1, suggesting that the thiolate ligand was replaced on addition of PDTC.

Synthesis and crystal structure of a dinuclear zinc(II)-dithiocarbamate complex, bis {[(μ 2-pyrrolidinedithiocarbamato-S,S′)(pyrrolidinedithiocarbamato-S,S′)zinc(II)]}

Heterocyclic compounds are pervasive in many areas of life and one of the heterocycles, imidazole is a unique heterocyclic five-membered aromatic compound having two sp2 hybridized nitrogen atoms. Its integral name is 1, 3 diazole and previously, it was known as glyoxalin. This moiety has achieved a considerable place among scientists in recent years by reason of its divergent synthetic strategies and uncommon biological and pharmacological activities, for example, anti-convulsant, anti-microbial, anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, anti-viral, anti-ulcer, analgesic, etc. Due to distinct therapeutic actions, it is still an engrossed area of research. Researchers currently are inventing new greener methods to synthesize its derivatives and to improve its pharmacological activities. The purpose of this review is to study the literature that can help researchers to explore this area, its prevailing program for synthesis in environmentally friendly conditions and biological profile throughout past decades.

Contemporary Progress in the Synthetic Strategies of Imidazole and its Biological Activities

A method for the determination of Co(II), Ni(II) and Pd(II) in aqueous samples by fabric phase sorptive extraction-high-performance liquid chromatography-UV detection (FPSE-HPLC-UV) is developed. A preconcentration step was necessary due to the trace level concentrations of these elements in aqueous samples. Sol-gel polytetrahydrofuran nanocomposite was selected as the sorbent. All major FPSE parameters were optimized. The limit of detection for Co(II), Ni(II) and Pd(II) morpholino dithiocarbamate complexes were found at much lower concentration level compared with earlier reported data with excellent reproducibility. The new FPSE-HPLC-UV method can be used for routine determination of these metal species in various aqueous environmental samples and in different alloys.

Determination of cobalt(II), nickel(II) and palladium(II) Ions via fabric phase sorptive extraction in combination with high-performance liquid chromatography-UV detection

A new copper(II) complex of imidazole (Imz), [Cu(Imidazole)4](I3)2 (1), was prepared and its structure was determined by X-ray crystallography. The structure of [Cu(Imidazole)4](I3)2 (1) is ionic and consists of [Cu(Imidazole)4]2+ cationic units, and triiodide counter ions. In 1, the copper atom is bound to four nitrogen atoms of Imz and assumes a nearly regular square planar geometry. Antimicrobial activities of 1 and three other complexes were evaluated by minimum inhibitory concentration and the results showed that the complexes exhibited significant activities against gram-negative bacteria (E. coli, P. aeruginosa).

Crystal structure and antimicrobial properties of tetrakis(imidazole)copper(II) triiodide, [Cu(imidazole)4](I3)2

Copper(II)-pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate (PDTC) complexes having the general formula, [Cu(PDTC)2], [Cu(PDTC)X2]− (where X = Cl−, I−, CN−, SCN−) and [Cu(PDTC)(en)]+ (en = ethylenediamine) have been prepared and characterized by IR spectroscopy and by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA and DTA). The IR data suggests that coordination of pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate (PDTC) takes place through the two sulphur atoms in a symmetrical bidentate fashion. The results of thermal analysis are consistent with the proposed composition of the complexes.
