Highly Efficient Cyclization of o‐Iodobenzoates with Aldehydes Catalyzed by Cobalt Bidentate Phosphine Complexes: A Novel Entry to Chiral Phthalides.
TL;DR: In this paper, an asymmetric version of the present catalytic reaction was investigated by employing bidentate chiral ligands, which is compatible with a variety of functional groups on the aryl ring of 2, including aliphatic aldehydes, heptanal, butyraldehyde, and 2-phenylacetaldehyde.

Synthesis of N‐Arylated 1,2‐Dihydroheteroaromatics Through the Three‐Component Reaction of Arynes with N‐Heteroaromatics and Terminal Alkynes or Ketones.
TL;DR: In this article, a three-component coupling reaction product, 1,2-dihydro-2-pyridinyl alkyne in a stereospecific [4+2] Diels-Alder cycloaddition reaction with N-phenyl maleimide to give an isoquinuclidine derivative, an important core present in various natural products, is demonstrated.

Cobalt‐ and Nickel‐Catalyzed Regio‐ and Stereoselective Reductive Coupling of Alkynes, Allenes, and Alkenes with Alkenes.
TL;DR: In this paper, the transition-metal-catalyzed coupling of two different C-C pi components through a metallacycle intermediate is a highly atom economical method to construct C -C bonds in organic synthesis.
