Essential structure of orexin 1 receptor antagonist YNT-707, Part I: Role of the 4,5-epoxy ring for binding with orexin 1 receptor
Naoshi Yamamoto,Sayaka Ohrui,Takahiro Okada,Masahiro Yata,Tsuyoshi Saitoh,Noriki Kutsumura,Yasuyuki Nagumo,Yoko Irukayama-Tomobe,Yasuhiro Ogawa,Yukiko Ishikawa,Yurie Watanabe,Daichi Hayakawa,Hiroaki Gouda,Masashi Yanagisawa,Hiroshi Nagase +14 more
TL;DR: The essential structure of the orexin 1 receptor (OX1R) antagonist YNT-707 was clarified, particularly the roles to OX1R antagonist activities of the 3-OMe, the 4,5-epoxy ring, the 14-hydroxy group, and the orientation of the 6-amide side chain.

Deletion of the endothelin-A-receptor suppresses oxygen-induced constriction but not postnatal closure of the ductus arteriosus.
Flavio Coceani,You-An Liu,Eric Seidlitz,Lois Kelsey,Tomoyuki Kuwaki,Cameron Ackerley,Masashi Yanagisawa +6 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that ET-1 mediates the ductus constriction to oxygen, however, the vessel still closes postnatally probably as a result of the withdrawal of the relaxing influence of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2).

Endothelin-secreting tumor.
Koji Yokokawa,Hideki Tahara,Masakazu Kohno,Koh-ichi Murakawa,Kenichi Yasunari,Koichi Nakagawa,Toshio Hamada,Shuzo Otani,Masashi Yanagisawa,Tadanao Takeda +9 more
TL;DR: ET-1 may play a pathophysiological role in patients with ET-secreting malignant hemangioendothelioma, and its messenger RNA expression in the tumor extract were higher than those from normal parts of skin.

Identification of mutations through dominant screening for obesity using C57BL/6 substrains.
Mohammad Sarowar Hossain,Fuyuki Asano,Tomoyuki Fujiyama,Chika Miyoshi,Makito Sato,Aya Ikkyu,Satomi Kanno,Noriko Hotta,Miyo Kakizaki,Takato Honda,Staci Jakyong Kim,Haruna Komiya,Ikuo Miura,Tomohiro Suzuki,Kimio Kobayashi,Hideki Kaneda,Vivek Kumar,Joseph S. Takahashi,Shigeharu Wakana,Hiromasa Funato,Hiromasa Funato,Masashi Yanagisawa +21 more
TL;DR: The hypothalamic neuropeptide expressions in the mutant pedigrees and mice with diet-induced obesity showed that each obesity mouse model has distinct neuropeptic expression profiles, which shows that this forward genetic screening scheme is useful and applicable to any research field in which mouse models work.
A consensus sequence in the endothelin-B receptor second intracellular loop is required for NHE3 activation by endothelin-1.
Kamel Laghmani,Aiji Sakamoto,Masashi Yanagisawa,Patricia A. Preisig,Patricia A. Preisig,Robert J. Alpern +5 more
TL;DR: It is found that binding of ET-1 to the ET(A) receptor inhibits NHE3 activity, an effect for which the COOH-terminal tail is necessary and sufficient.
