Acidity, Surface Structure, and Catalytic Performance of WOx Supported on Monoclinic Zirconia
TL;DR: The relationship between the acidity, catalytic activity, and surface structure for tungsten oxide supported on zirconia was investigated and results indicated that the active sites were related to polymeric W surface species.

Ring opening of decalin and methylcyclohexane over alumina-based monofunctional WO3/Al2O3 and Ir/Al2O3 catalysts
Rodrigo Moraes,Karine Thomas,Sébastien Thomas,Sander Van Donk,Giacomo Grasso,Jean-Pierre Gilson,Marwan Houalla +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the ring-opening reactions of decalin and MCH were studied over monofunctional acid (WO3/Al2O3) and metal catalysts containing, respectively, up to 5.3 at. W/nm2 and 1.8 wt% Ir.

Relations between structure, acidity, and activity of WOx/TiO2: influence of the initial state of the support, titanium oxyhydroxide, or titanium oxide.
TL;DR: No significant effect of the initial form of the support (titanium oxyhydroxide versus titanium oxide; 100% anatase) was evidenced, and for a given W surface density, the W surface structure, concentration of Brønsted acid sites, and catalytic performances were similar.

Acidity of titania-supported tungsten or niobium oxide catalysts Correlation with catalytic activity
TL;DR: In this article, the acidity of catalytic systems based on tungsten oxide or niobium oxide supported on titania was compared, and a direct correlation between the catalytic activity and the abundance of Bronsted acid sites was observed.
Study of Ir/WO3/ZrO2–SiO2 ring-opening catalysts: Part II. Reaction network, kinetic studies and structure–activity correlation
TL;DR: In this article, the influence of W and Ir loading on the activity of Ir/WO 3 /ZrO 2 -SiO 2 catalysts for the ring-opening reaction of naphthenic molecules using methylcyclohexane (MCH) as a model compound was investigated.
