Circulating ICAM-1 and VCAM-1 in Peripheral Artery Disease and Hypercholesterolaemia: Relationship to the Location of Atherosclerotic Disease, Smoking, and in the Prediction of Adverse Events
TL;DR: It is suggested that increased levels of sVCAM-1 in atherosclerosis are due to smoking, that increased sICam-1 is independent of this risk factor, that both these changes are independent of hypercholesterolaemia, and that increased SICAM-2 is a weak predictor of disease progression in peripheral Atherosclerosis.

Soluble adhesion molecules and endothelial cell damage in HIV infected patients
Martine Seigneur,Joël Constans,Andrew D. Blann,Martine Renard,Jean Luc Pellegrin,Jean Amiral,Michel R. Boisseau,Claude Conri +7 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that increased vWf is largely the result of inflammatory stimulus of the endothelium but that sTM is found only in those patients with more severe disease, and so truly represents endothelial damage.

Circulating endothelial cell markers in peripheral vascular disease: relationship to the location and extent of atherosclerotic disease
TL;DR: It is concluded that von Willebrand factor is a marker of generalized atherosclerosis, but that soluble thrombomodulin is related to the extent of disease.

LEVELS OF PLASMA TI-IROMBOMODULIN ARE INCREASED lN ATHEROMATOUS ARTERIAL DISEASE
Martine Seigneur,Pascale Dufourcq,Claude Conri,Patrick MerciC,Jean Amiral,Dominique Midy,Jean-Claude Baste +6 more
- 01 Jan 1993
TL;DR: The findings suggest that an increased influx of TM into the plasma may be caused by endothelial cell damage in patients with atheromatous arterial disease.

Levels of plasma thrombomodulin are increased in atheromatous arterial disease
Martine Seigneur,Pascale Dufourcq,Claude Conri,Joël Constans,Patrick Mercié,Annie Pruvost,Jean Amiral,Dominique Midy,Jean-Claude Baste,M.R. Boisseau +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied plasma thrombomodulin (TM) levels in patients with various localizations of atheromatous arterial disease who had normal serum creatinine levels.
