Circularly polarized gravitational sandwich waves exhibit, as do their linearly polarized counterparts, the Velocity Memory Effect: freely falling test particles in the flat after-zone fly apart along straight lines with constant velocity. In the inside zone their trajectories combine oscillatory and rotational motions in a complicated way. For circularly polarized periodic gravitational waves some trajectories remain bounded, while others spiral outward. These waves admit an additional "screw" isometry beyond the usual five. The consequences of this extra symmetry are explored.

The isometries of an exact plane gravitational wave are symmetries for both massive and massless particles. Their conformal extensions are in fact chrono-projective transformations introduced earlier by Duval et al are symmetries for massless particles. Homotheties are universal chrono-projective symmetries for any profile. Chrono-projective transformations also generate new conserved quantities for the underlying non-relativistic systems in the Bargmann framework. Homotheties play a similar role for the lightlike "vertical" coordinate as isometries play for the transverse coordinates.

We report some highlights from the ARIES APEC workshop on ``Storage Rings and Gravitational Waves'' (SRGW2021), held in virtual space from 2 February to 18 March 2021, and sketch a tentative landscape for using accelerators and associated technologies for the detection or generation of gravitational waves.

Storage Rings and Gravitational Waves: Summary and Outlook.

We simulate the response of a Storage Ring Gravitational-Wave Observatory (SRGO) to astrophysical millihertz (mHz) gravitational waves (GWs), numerically obtaining its sensitivity curve and optimal choices for some controllable experiment parameters. We also generate synthetic noisy GW data and use Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) methods to perform parameter estimation of the source properties and their degeneracies. We show that a single SRGO could potentially localize the GW source in the sky using Earth's rotation. We also study the source sky localization area, mass and distance estimation errors as functions of noise, data sampling rate, and observing time. Finally, we discuss, along with its implications, the capacity of an SRGO to detect and constrain the parameters of millihertz GW events.

We investigate the influence of a gravitational wave background on particles in circular motion. We are especially interested in waves leading to stationary orbits. This consideration is limited to circular orbits perpendicular to the incidence direction. As a main result of our calculation we obtain in addition to the well-known alteration of the radial distance a time dependent correction term for the phase modifying the circular motion of the particle. A background of gravitational waves creates some kind of uncertainty.

This paper describes an easy and teaching way how quantum mechanics (QM) and general relativity (GR) can be brought together. The method consists of formulating Schrodinger’s equation of a free quantum wave of a massive particle in curved space-time of GR using the Schwarzschild metric. The result is a Schrodinger equation of the particle which is automatically subjected to Newtons’s gravitational potential.

We discuss that the singularities appearing in Dirac's formulation of magnetic monopoles are due to the set of fields which he used and not due to the physical properties of magnetic monopoles. We explain in detail that we can find the same algebraic expressions and singularities for the affine connections on the sphere $S^2$, which Dirac found for the U(1) gauge field of magnetic monopoles. Since spheres have no singularities, it is obvious, that these singularities are due to the set of fields which are used to describe the geometry of $S^2$. As there are descriptions of the geometry of spheres without any singularities, we indicate that it would be preferable to use singularity free descriptions of magnetic and also electric monopoles.
