Advances and adventures in amination reactions of olefins and alkynes
Matthias Beller,Claudia Breindl,Martin Eichberger,Christian G. Hartung,Jayasree Seayad,Oliver R. Thiel,Annegret Tillack,Harald Trauthwein +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, a review of transition metal-catalyzed amination of olefins and alkynes is presented. Special emphasis is given to rhodium-calyzed oxidative aminations of aromatic olefs.

Base-Catalyzed Synthesis of N-(2-Arylethyl)anilines and Base-Promoted Domino Synthesis of 2,3-Dihydroindoles.
TL;DR: The use of potassium tert-butylalcoholate enables the selective addition of primary anilines to substituted styrenes and a new domino reaction, consisting of a hydroamination and an aryne cyclization, which leads to pharmacologically interesting 2,3-dihydroindoles.

New cationic rhodium–amine complexes and their implication in the catalytic anti-Markovnikov oxidative amination of styrenes
Matthias Beller,Harald Trauthwein,Martin Eichberger,Claudia Breindl,Thomas Müller,Alexander Zapf +5 more
TL;DR: The easier dissociation of the amine ligand explains why monodentate amines give good yields of the corresponding enamines in contrast to bidentates amines.
