SUMMARY

A cell-free system prepared from spleen cells of DBA/2 mice was stimulated by P815 tumour cells as antigen. The response of the cell-free system to this stimulation was a synthesis of i-RNA in the cell free system. The i-RNA was isolated by a combined phenol-Na-dodecyl-sulphate extraction method and purified by gradient centrifugation. This i-RNA was injected to DBA/2 mice to which P815 tumour cells were implanted at different time intervals before the i-RNA application. It could be demonstrated that the i-RNA inhibits the development of tumour. Theoretical and practical implications of the experiments are discussed.
