TL;DR: It is demonstrated that an amino acid substitution in the IFN λ 4 protein changing a proline at position 70 to a serine (P70S) substantially alters its antiviral activity, leading to an improved prognosis for HCV infected patients.

TL;DR: HCC is the leading cause of death in patients with liver cirrhosis and can be detected early by monitoring patients with chronic liver disease, and intermediate and advanced stage HCC are treatable by chemoembolisation and the tyrosine kinase inhibitor sorafenib (Nexavar) respectively.
