Nanotechnologies, engineered nanomaterials and occupational health and safety – A review
Kai Savolainen,Lea Pylkkänen,Hannu Norppa,Ghita C.-M. Falck,Hanna K. Lindberg,Timo Tuomi,Minnamari Vippola,Harri Alenius,Kaarle Hämeri,Joonas Koivisto,Derk H. Brouwer,Dave Mark,Delphine Bard,Markus Berges,Elzbieta Jankowska,M. Posniak,Peter B. Farmer,Rajinder Singh,Fritz Krombach,Peter Bihari,Gerhard Kasper,Martin Seipenbusch +21 more
TL;DR: It is crucial to identify those ENm that may cause occupational health and safety risks from those ENM which are innocent, hence allowing prioritization of regulatory and preventive actions at workplaces at national, regional and global levels.

Workplace air measurements and likelihood of exposure to manufactured nano-objects, agglomerates, and aggregates
Derk H. Brouwer,B. van Duuren-Stuurman,Markus Berges,Delphine Bard,Elzbieta Jankowska,Carsten Moehlmann,Johannes Pelzer,Dave Mark +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, a multi-metric exposure assessment approach was followed and a decision logic was developed to afford analysis of all results in concert, and the overall evaluation was classified by categories of likelihood of exposure.

Monitoring and Sampling Strategy for (Manufactured) Nano Objects, Agglomerates and Aggregates (NOAA): Potential Added Value of the NANODEVICE Project
D. H. Brouwer,G. Lidén,Christof Asbach,Markus Berges,M. van Tongeren +4 more
- 01 Jan 2014
TL;DR: In this article, the major elements are outlined of a measurement strategy to assess exposure of workers to NOA in workplace air, and the main principles of real-time aerosol monitoring and sampling for off-line analysis are presented and proposed strategies for measuring NOAA are discussed.

Vision on safe nanoparticles and nanotechnologies: Global and EU perspective. Nanosafety and REACH
Kai Savolainen,Lea Pylkkänen,Hannu Norppa,Ghita C.-M. Falck,Hanna K. Lindberg,Timo Tuomi,Minnamari Vippola,Harri Alenius,Derk H. Brouwer,Dave Mark,Delphine Bard,Markus Berges,Elzbieta Jankowska,Malgorzata Posniak,Peter B. Farmer,Raj Singh,Fritz Krombach +16 more

From workplace air measurement results toward estimates of exposure? Development of a strategy to assess exposure to manufactured nano-objects
Derk H. Brouwer,Birgit van Duuren-Stuurman,Markus Berges,Elzbieta Jankowska,Delphine Bard,Dave Mark +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a harmonized approach for measurement strategy, data analysis and reporting was developed to estimate the potential for exposure to manufactured nano-objects, more quantitatively, using the NANOSH data.
