Echocardiography for prediction of 6-month and late response to cardiac resynchronization therapy: implementation of stress echocardiography and comparative assessment along with widely used dyssynchrony indices
Emmanouil Poulidakis,Constantina Aggeli,Skevos Sideris,Eliza Sfendouraki,Iosif Koutagiar,Andreas Katsaros,Evangelos Giannoulis,Markos Koukos,Eleni Margioula,Stavroula Lagoudakou,Kostas Gatzoulis,Polychronis Dilaveris,Ioannis Kallikazaros,Stavroula Couloheri,Christodoulos Stefanadis,Dimitrios Tousoulis +15 more
TL;DR: Investigation of the role of stress echocardiography along with dyssynchrony parameters for identification of CRT responders or late responders found simple and reliable predictors of 6-month and late CRT response.

The Contemporary Role of Speckle Tracking Echocardiography in Cirrhotic Cardiomyopathy
Yiannis Dimitroglou,Constantina Aggeli,A. Alexopoulou,D Tsartsalis,Dimitrios Patsourakos,Markos Koukos,Dimitris Tousoulis,K. Tsioufis +7 more
- 25 Jan 2024
TL;DR: The presence of CCM, according to the updated criteria, does not exhibit a significant association—in the majority of studies—with the severity of liver disease and prognosis, and information on other indices measured with STE, such as left atrial and right ventricular strain, is promising but currently limited.

Speckle tracking echocardiography and β-thalassemia major. A systematic review.
Dimitrios Patsourakos,Constantina Aggeli,Yannis Dimitroglou,Sophia Delicou,Katerina Xydaki,Markos Koukos,D Tsartsalis,Foteini Gialeli,Konstantinos Gatzoulis,Dimitris Tousoulis,K. Tsioufis +10 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that speckle tracking echocardiography should be applied supplementary to conventional echocardiography for early identification of myocardial dysfunction among β-TM patients.

Left Atrium: A New Prognostic Marker and Therapeutic Target in Secondary Mitral Regurgitation?
Markos Koukos,Yiannis Dimitroglou,D Tsartsalis,Eirini Beneki,Elias Tolis,Dimitrios Patsourakos,A. Kalompatsou,Constantina Aggeli,K. Tsioufis +8 more
TL;DR: LA evaluation holds prognostic significance and can guide therapeutic strategies in patients with secondary mitral regurgitation.

Right ventricular mechanics among beta-thalassemia major patients
Dimitrios Patsourakos,Constadina Aggeli,K. A. Gatzoulis,Sophia Delicou,Aikaterini Xydaki,Markos Koukos,F. Gialleli,Yannis Dimitroglou,Kostantinos Tsioufis +8 more
TL;DR: Right ventricular deformation indices were found to be impaired in β-TM patients compared to controls, but they do not seem to be associated with myocardial iron load (T2* index), and a correlation was found between RV-PC indices and left atrial strain.
