The Physiological Effect of n-3 Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids (n-3 PUFAs) Intake and Exercise on Hemorheology, Microvascular Function, and Physical Performance in Health and Cardiovascular Diseases; Is There an Interaction of Exercise and Dietary n-3 PUFA Intake?
Marko Stupin,Aleksandar Kibel,Ana Stupin,Kristina Selthofer-Relatić,Anita Matić,Martina Mihalj,Zrinka Mihaljević,Ivana Jukić,Ines Drenjančević +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors discuss the physiological effects of n-3 PUFA intake and exercise on hemorheology, microvascular function, immunomodulation and inflammation and physical performance in healthy persons and in cardiovascular diseases; elucidating if there is an interaction of exercise and diet.
Acute Exhaustive Rowing Exercise Reduces skin Microvascular Dilator Function in Young Adult Rowing Athletes
Marko Stupin,Ana Stupin,Lidija Rašić,Anita Ćosić,Luka Kolar,Vatroslav Šerić,Helena Lenasi,Krešimir Ižaković,Ines Drenjančević +8 more
TL;DR: Single acute exercise session impaired microvascular reactivity and endothelial function in rowers but not in sedentary, possibly due to (1) more rowing grades and higher exercise intensity achieved by rowers; (2) a higher increase in arterial pressure in rower than in Sedentary men; and (3) a lower antioxidant capacity in rowing.
