TL;DR: In this article , as-needed albuterol-budesonide 180/160μg FDC was shown to reduce severe exacerbation risk by 27%, annualized severity exacerbation rate by 24%, and annualized total systemic corticosteroid exposure mean was reduced by 33%.

TL;DR: This study (MANDALA) evaluates as-needed use of albuterol-budesonide (ABD) vs albuterol (A) in moderate-to-severe asthma patients, finding similar use patterns and low rates of high daily use, with ABD being well-tolerated and comparable to A in terms of adverse events.
