Characterisation of the yam tuber storage protein dioscorin
Steven Conlan,Steven Conlan,Steven Conlan,Leslie-Ann Griffiths,Mark Turner,Roger J. Fido,Arthur S. Tatham,Charles Ainsworth,Peter R. Shewry +8 more
TL;DR: Investigation of the characterisation of dioscorin from Dioscorea caye-nensis found a secondary structure rich in α-helix which agreed with secondary structure predictions based on the protein sequence, and a significant degree of sequence similarity was found between diosCorins and α-carbonic anhydrase enzymes from animals.

Trafficking of wheat gluten proteins in transgenic tobacco plants: gamma-gliadin does not contain an endoplasmic reticulum-retention signal.
TL;DR: Results indicate that γ-gliadin is targeted to the vacuole in transgenic tobacco plants and does not contain any structural determinants which confer retention in the endoplasmic reticulum.

Structure, assembly and targeting of wheat storage protein
Peter R. Shewry,Olga Sayanova,Arthur S. Tatham,László Tamás,Mark Turner,Gaelle Richard,Hickman,Roger J. Fido,Nigel G. Halford,Jja Greenfield,Barbara Grimwade,Neil H. Thomson,Mervyn J Miles,Robert B. Freedman,Johnathan A. Napier +14 more
TL;DR: A detailed picture is given of the structure, synthesis, assembly and deposition of wheat gluten proteins using a range of biophysical and biochemical approaches.

Structure, assembly and targeting of wheat storage proteins
Peter R. Shewry,Olga Sayanova,Arthur S. Tatham,László Tamás,Mark Turner,Gaelle Richard,Dominic R Hickman,Roger J. Fido,Nigel G. Halford,Julie Greenfield,Barbara Grimwade,Neil H. Thomson,Mervyn J Miles,Robert B. Freedman,Johnathan A. Napier +14 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a range of biophysical and biochemical approaches were used to determine the structures of individual proteins, using fractions purified from flour or expressed in heterologous systems, giving a detailed picture of the structure, synthesis, assembly and deposition of wheat gluten proteins.
