Air exchange rates from atmospheric CO2 daily cycle.
TL;DR: The proposed method recognizes that photosynthesis and respiration cycle of plants and processes associated with fuel combustion produce daily, quasi-periodic, variations in the ambient CO2 concentrations that are utilized for estimating ventilation rates without the need of a source of CO2 in the building.

An experimental analysis of the correction factors adopted on environmental noise measurements performed with window-mounted microphones
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of the front microphone mounting condition on the L d descriptor is examined, for a case where the dominant noise source is a road traffic, and the results show that, when the microphone is mounted directly on the window, the difference relative to measurements obtained in free field conditions varies between 4.0 dB and 4.4 dB.

Assessing the influence of the sampling strategy on the uncertainty of environmental noise measurements through the bootstrap method
TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of the sampling parameters on the uncertainty of the equivalent continuous noise level in environmental noise measurements is investigated, and the authors assess the possibility to define, as much as possible, a general methodology which enables the definition of the parameters once the precision level is defined.

Teaching and researching the indoor environment: From traditional experimental techniques towards web-enabled practices
Luísa Pereira,João Dias Carrilho,Nelson Brito,Maria de Fátima Teixeira Rocheta Gomes,Mário Mateus,Behrang Chenari,Manuel Gameiro da Silva +6 more
TL;DR: The 3Es project was funded by the company Teixeira Duarte on the framework of the Portuguese Program of R&D Projects associated to Large Public Tenders as mentioned in this paper.

Real time web publishing of environmental noise monitoring data
João Dias Carrilho,Mário Mateus,Manuel Gameiro da Silva +2 more
- 01 Jun 2015
TL;DR: This paper summarizes the steps that were followed in the creation of a dynamic webpage for publishing, in real time, the data from the Environmental Noise Monitoring station installed at the Association for the Development of Industrial Aerodynamics (ADAI), at the University of Coimbra.
